I have fibro and one of the more pleasant effects are sleep problems. Has anyone been given Zopiclone sleeping tablets 3.75mg.

Any comments would be very welcome, as the Fibro is really getting boring now.

Has anyone found a way of copping with the lack of sleep and not want to yell at everyone the following day, when you are still in loads of pain.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hi Mike

I have taken Zopiclone sleeping tablets at that dose for a number of years. I only take it when I am absolutely desperate for rest perhaps once or twice a week as I don't want to get into a habit of taking it all the time as I had problems years back in getting off Ativan which had been given me for sleep problems. My doctor also would be unhappy for me to take it every night as I think he believes it would eventually become less effective. I can sympathise with you as when you haven't slept in days you seem to feel raw both physically and mentally and every little thing gets you down. I also think lack of sleep t amplifies the pain. I sincerely hope they work for you and you can get some rest.

Hi,

I also have fibro among many other conditions.

I think sometimes when you are desperate for sleep and struggle to get any descent restorative sleep when you go to bed at night, is to say to hec with all the theories, have a sleep in the afternoon. I do this, as gave up hanging time out until bedtime, at least I don't stress so much if I have a bad night, as I've had a couple of hours in the afternoon, that has been good quality sleep.

That's just the way I deal with it. Hope it's given you some other ideas to think about and good luck...........sleep deprivation is a horrendous condition to have, it affects so many areas of our health and well being. Take care. X
