Hello Ann

BOB here,

Sounds muscular more than anything if the pain is as you press them, nerves in legs can also show this problem, I have tendon problems they cause this and nerve pain sometimes like me also tendons swell around the sleave, and can also cause problems, so you can say you are spoilt for choice.

The doctor will help here as I do not know if it is around a joint or transmitting down the leg Try use the TENS on it if got one this you may be able to see where the pain is transmitting from/too

All the best

BOB

Thanks Bob, it has been worrying me as I have never had my feet swelling up! Am going to the GP on Monday, need to sort the meds out. I am in so much pain every day it is doing my head in!

I have had excruciating pain in my hip, down my leg, into my knee and down to my foot. I have been told it is sciatica and been put on a tablet called Gaberpentin, which I take 3 times daily. This is working very well, although because there are quite a lot of side effects, I read as much about the tablet as I could find, before agreeing to take it.

This is my experience and I am not saying that you have sciatica, only that it helped me.

Good luck.

Yes I do have this and my legs are tender esp in the shins. Knees and feet are also painful. What I have never understood is why the legs when touched are sore. Cos I thought the RA and OA were in the joints. OK may be too simplistic but take help from anyone.

My ankles and feet have been swelling up in the heat. Not sure what is down to, but I'm living in my flip flops at the moment!

Yes, me too! Not the swelling the big worry, it is the pain? Oh well, I have been warned by every medical professional I see that it is a progressive illness and will only get worse. Great encouragement I must say. We just have to do the best we can. Thanks for the reply, I shall let you know what the GP says. Ann

I have had sore area which felt like it was in the bone. This was limited to a small area and could be traced back to a muscle applying pressure on a nerve.

The feet swelling up could be be blocked Lymph vessels somewhere. Look up

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lymph...

for more detail. The blocked lymph vessal could be caused by a tight muscle.

This requires examination by the appropriate medical practitioner to determin.

Thanks I will look into this. Ann

Hello

BOB hetre

When you suffer pain to touch it could be that the nerves in the effected area are suffering just below the layers of skin, if their is pain that is being transmitted from say sciatica that will instigate nerve pain because of the sciatic nerve been trapped, so part of this will feel that the flesh is sore or tingly as the sciatic nerve is a major nerve that feeds down the leg,

Swelling of ankles and feet on a hot day, can effect those who have no joint problems. sometimes heat will cause this when walking or when you are overweight so that can form problems that may not be caused by a arthritis etc.

One way to get the swelling down is to immerse your feet in cold water or if lucky a foot spa this will possibly reduce swelling

All the best

Thanks Bob, am going to invest in a foot spa. Will need it if this is going to keep happening. Remember when I had the problem with my toe joint and I thought it was gout. After the blood tests they said it wasn't. I have been researching today and have a feeling it is rheumatoid arthritis, I get it in my hand. Seems like I am having a flare up. All new to me so am learning as I go. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it. Ann
