Hi Can I take Paracetamol with Tramadol? I have an inflamed back disk awaiting treatment... I have switched from co-codamol...

Generally yes, although confirm with your GP.

With regards the Amitriptyline there could be movement there to increase the dose.

I do not know id you have been to Pain Clinic as a Tens may be also useful, this would with luck reduce your pain medications

With regard to above discuss increases with your GP. Paracetamol need to be respected if you take to many to regular

yesterday i went to my GP and was taken off co-codamol and DHC she has now started me on Tramadol and paracetamol..up to 8 tramadol a day and 8 paracetamol ..early days yet but feel tramadol is working for me ..sadly everyone is different ..good luck

Yes Paracetamol actually makes tramadol work better - i take 2 paracetamol and 2 tramadol 4x daily with other medication including amitriptyline and am asthmatic

My pain clinic specialist (and my GP - he was a pain specialist!) recommended taking a normal dose of paracetamol with tramadol to enhance its effect. I now don't bother taking tramadol _without_ paracetamol (even on pregabelin). But see bob, above, wrt ongoing paracetamol, though, and talk to your doc.

If after the op you still have pain do consider going to a rehab/Pain Management clinic. I found the support from life management can be really helpful in boosting the effect of the medication - especially towards the end of the period of best effectiveness.

Thanks so much guys I have now had it confirmed that I can take them both together so fingers crossed they will start to work soon what are anti inflamotory foods Ether64? would be interested in finding out more def... thank you so much for all responses and hope you are all sorted soon x
