Why do you live in bungalow that not able to the things other bungalows do?

I think you have to be over 65 for that benefit, worth a try anyway, I wish you good fortune.

It's not the illnesses they look at, it is how your day to day living is affected is by your illnesses, pains or confusions that sort of thing.

Most definitely give it a go and then hopefully you get a big fat cheque through the post, I'll be thinking of you.

Attendance Allowance is awarded based on your needs, not just on your medical condition.

Many applications are turned down because people don’t mention or aren’t clear about how their illness or disability affects their lives. Don’t underestimate your needs when filling in the form.

Think about all the things you can’t do, or have trouble with, because of your condition. Don’t leave things out, even if you feel you can manage well enough.

Describe any accidents or falls you’ve had.

Explain the effects of all your disabilities and health conditions, and how they interact with each other.

List things that you struggle to do unaided, even if you’ve developed ways to cope. If an activity takes you much longer than it would somebody without a disability, or if it’s difficult to do safely, this can be taken into account. Say if you need reminding or encouraging to do things, as this also counts as help.

Focus on how frequently you need help. To qualify for the lower rate of Attendance Allowance, you have to show you need help ‘frequently’ during the day or at night. For example, if you need help looking after your appearance, this could add up to six or seven times a day, if you include help to check your clothes are clean after a meal, help to find a coat and matching shoes, and so on.

Give plenty of information in your own words about your personal circumstances. Don’t worry if you need to repeat yourself.

Morning Valerieboot if you can manage to get to a drop in centre or citizens advice they will assist you in filling in the forms plus I know there is a person on here that can help with this as they deal with the benefits side of things I am sure once admin pick up your post they will be able to give you the name of the contact and how to get in touch - and just because you are in a bungalow won't be the factor that gets you the award

From experience of filling one of these in for my dad years ago they are long and laborious and you will find you do have to repeat yourself - and as Paton has said really think about your answers and look at ALL points where you need assistance - plus if they still do the same with them - you have to have the forms back by a certain date or you will need to get another one and should you be refused then appeal. Hope you are successful take care 😘🤗🤗

If you have an Age uk office / centre in your county near where you live, they will be able to help you fill in the forms.

Don't think the shop will be able to help as its a benefits advisor you need to see and they are in a separate Age uk office / centre . Perhaps look up in yellow pages.
