I am interested to know if anyone has had this procedure?

I am going to have local anaesthetic placed up my nose which will numb around the eye socket area on the right side of my face. I have taken many diff meds over last 3years but still in agony, no two days are the same regarding the pain.

Currently taking Tegretol (carbamazepine) up to 400mg daily which doesn't usually touch the pain & I use Capsaicin Cream which I put on the right side of my face & on my scalp. Totally fed up with this TN pain & cannot believe how much it has dictated the last 3 yrs of my life!! I work part time 32 hrs per week & am so grateful something is finally being done to help me - already asked the consultant what is next if the anaesthetic procedure doesn't work - he advised the nerves on the right side of my face will be 'squashed' & I will be numb around cheekbone & eye socket for the rest of my life!! That's fine - I can live with that, happily :-)
