Morning all, Can someone explain to me why ......

Why is it whenever I cough/sneeze that the wrench / pressure of the action goes straight to my already painful hip bursitis and makes the pain 10 times worse?(going back to doc on Wednesday)......x

Hello BOB here,

All I can suggest is it is a referred pain that has transmitted down the spine, That is all lt can be Mind it could be something else. When you think about it all nerves travel down the spine from the brain, therefore the nerve associated

with hip and Bursitis will be effected in that way

Another thing that may happen is when you sneeze pressure on neck could be restricting the nerves, although above sounds more likely.

How do you stop it ? ,Do not sneeze

A sneeze travels in excess of 40 mph. That's a lot of energy through your body.

I'm sure there is a simple answer to your question but I'm going to pass!!

I think you just jolt your body and make all the muscles contract and that may set off the pain, good luck at the GP

I have had to find a different way to sneeze.... I know that sounds sill but instead of try to control it I just get a tissue in front of my face, hold my Back and just let it rip!!! Have to else I don't do my back any favours at all
