Hi I had my first set of Botox injections in October 2012, this was injected into the bladder wall because I have severe damage to the signals going form brain to spinal cord, The treatment was fantastic afterwards I didn't need to take any medication for my bladder anymore nor did I have to wear pads, the botex should normally last nine months but mine worn of after 4 so in March this year I had another set of injections and these started to wear off last month has anybody else had experience with Botox x

Hello BOB here

Have heard of them being used for medical conditions.

If it works why not,? something positive from the beauty industry, I am glad you have found something positive and gives some positive relief

All the best

Hello BOB, Firstly let me wish you a HAPPY 63rd BIRTHDAY for yesterday, The Botox injections have made huge improvements for me the only downside of having it, is once I have it I then i have to self catheterise three times a day, but I would rather do that than have to wear pads all the time, and be worrying if I go anywhere am I going to have. a accident lol

Hello BOB again,

Think this would do me good, reached sixty three today, age lines more advanced.

Wonder if Hazel would think I was a little younger once more Age wears you down when in pain

All the best

BOB

Hi Linzi

Yes, I too have botox, but luckily not in my bladder - I hope you get really good anaesthsia for that. I've been having it every 4 months for about 3 years now, in my shoulder and face, for chronic pain in those areas. It does turn the intensity of the pain down, or if its still intense pain it often shortens the time it lasts, but I still get some bad pain. It's also having a good knock-on effect on my migraines.

My next dose is due in a couple of weeks. I've also been having physiotherapy and although things have improved, they haven't improved enough to not need the injections. I was hoping to suggest that they increased the time between injections to 5 months next time but I know this isn't really going to work. Still, I feel like I've got my life back as I no longer take masses of medication.

I've heard of other people having botox for things like excessive sweating or salivation or really severe muscle spasms, and it sounds like most people need repeat injections after about 3 months.

I hope you carry on finding it helpful.

Hi Teadrinker My Friends hoping her doctor will opt for Botox for her migraines, I will let her know that it is possible she suffers really bad with them, I don't have anaesthesia when I have my injections I can't feel it anyway, I have an appointment to see my urologist next week hopefully I will have it done pretty soon after seeing him, he's good like that I only waited a week last time, I guess I'm trying to find out what other people's experiences are with Botox thanks for getting in touch you have been most helpful Linzi x
