I just start pregabalin on Saturday! Got to be honest I'm not sleeping well since taking it is this normal?

I am on 200mg twice a day and could sleep at anytime,but it is lovely to sleep in the night, good luck

Pregabalin put a lot of weight on me (it came off when I stopped).Gabapentin, great painkiller but made me very depressed and hostile(both listed effects). I use Oxcarbazepine as an alternative, at a low dose.

It isn't so much an alternative you need, you just have to accept that what works for one may not work for somebody else.

Pregabalin is an excellent drug, but only for some people, and it does have side effects. It is also very strong so only take it if it works. It did not help me with sleeping or pain relief and I had hallucinations ( a known side effect ) so I stopped taking it! You need to give it a chance to work, but if you feel no better come off it and try something else - as simple as that!

You are right, sometimes a drug works very well for one person and not at all for the other. I am on co codamol which is not very strong, takes the edge off, I am tired of trying new drugs and having to go through so many side effects. I am going to stick with the one that helps me, we are all different.
