I bought a plantar facilitis night splint to see if it would help my heel pain. Meanwhile rhuemy said the pain in my ankle is also oa. I've been wearing the night splint for 4 nights. Last night was the first time I managed all night, as its quite awkward. And today the pain in my ankle is much worse. I've been walking around, thinking its just stiff muscles from being held in position, but it still really hurts. I'm not sure i can deal with another joint pain on top of the others!!
And another thing...: I bought a plantar... - Pain Concern
And another thing...
Hi rowan tree,I just read your post and it made me think of something the ward sister said to me....
Im having treatment called shockwave therapy and she was telling me that it's being used for people who have very bad heel pain ,I am having treatment to try and close a Venus ulcer
And the surgion was out of things to try ,so he said lets try a few shockwave treatments
He was also telling me they use the shockwave therapy on heel pain and amputees to help heel the wounds , maybe you should google it and find out if they have a machine in your vascular ward of your local hospital
Anyway it was just a thought when l read your post take care xxx
Thank you jackiewann I came across that today too. I ll look into it.
hi,i found the best thing for plantar facitas is to strap up my foot arches.with sticking plaster right round my feet, plus if you have hard skin on your feet that makes it much worse.also if you can manage stand on the edge of a step facing the step, and let your heels drop, this strengthens the tendons and takes the pressure off the heel.hope you find this helpful
Did the sticking plaster help the heel pain? Did you have them strapped all day? I might try that one.
