post op issues

Hi I am 4 weeks post op after a full AH. I am getting a swishing in my stomach feeling every time I move be it standing up or when I turn over in bed. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just my insides settling back into place?

Thanks Debbie x

Hi Debbie,

I mostly felt numb in the first few weeks and I still get the odd twinge 3-4 months after. Do you have a date for your post op check up with your surgeon? I am sure everybody has a different experience after so I wouldn't worry, but just make sure your surgeon knows what you are feeling and has a good feel of your tummy in your post op check up. Of course you can always contact your GP too, if you think you need reassurance before then.

Hi Debbie

Good to hear from you again.

This is a huge operation that involved lots of rearranging of your inner bits , so yes I remember strange bits moving around too.If you are brave enough, you can see a TAH on Youtube , it really is huge. You also may take a little longer to fully improve because of the trauma you went through.

I do hope that you are not even thinking about going back to work for several more weeks or untill you are fully recovered.

Take care

Love

Hi charlie

Thanks for your response.

Not thinking of going back to work until end of Nov then will gradually build up my hours!

Could not face the TAH on you tube!!!
