Hi

Finished chemo 4 weeks ago and suffered hairloss which is now growing vigorously.

This week however my eyebrows are thinning and my eyelashes are falling out entirely.

Has anyone else suffered this and if so how quickly do they grow back?

Hi I think everyone is different...I lost my eyelashes and eyebrows when I was on chemo..then when I finished they grew back but I keep losing them on and off...and it is now seven months after chemo has finished...best wishes love x G x :-)

Hi

Glad you asked this question because I was beginning to wonder about my eyelashes - finished chemo 3 weeks ago and can see hair growing back in all other places where it was except there. Last time I had chemo they wer4e the first thing to grow back!

Hope yours will come back and stay back soon!

Dear JM, I think each of us reacts differently to chemotherapy. It's good news you've finished the course. Did you try the cool cap? I'd imagine you're disappointed that your eyebrows and eyelashes, having survived this far, have started to fall out. Everyone I know regained hair, lashes and brows within a couple of months. I hope they come back to stay for good. Xxxx Annie

Hi

Both my eyebrows and lashes were very slow after chemo. In the end I brought Rapid Lash which did improve things but I had to go back on Taxol, so am now back to where I was, very sparse!!

Try the Rapid Lash, it can be brought at Boots, I put it on my brows and lashes.

Good luck xx

Hi

My eyelashes also fell out after regrowing , but grew back again within a few weeks.

I finished my chemo July last year.My hair grew really well.

In April this year I suffered a patch of alopechia ,from then on I have had a great deal of hair loss.Am now on chemo again ,so will probably loose it all again.

I am sure your lashes will grow again soon.

I think everyone must be different. My hair started growing back before I finished chemo - albeit very slowly, but my eyelashes and eyebrows are taking forever!! Three months down the line they're only just starting to grow. I'm going to a Look Good Feel Better workshop at the hospital in a couple of weeks where trained make-up artists teach cancer patients how to use make-up effectively. These sessions are run all over the country so it might be worth booking into one. lookgoodfeelbetter.co.uk will let you find your nearest workshop.

If your hair is growing vigorously I'm sure your eyelashes and eyebrows won't be far behind.

Hi, I lost eyelashes very quickly- just after losing my hair. Then I lost my eyebrows.

Finished chemo 3mths ago and have full head of hair but look like action man at

the moment,(not a good look) so still wearing headscarves and wig.My eyelashes

grew back quickly and are about back to normal but sadly I dont seem to be getting

my eyebrows back yet. It's a very wierd look!!.

Hope this is some help to you.

Best wishes Angie X

Hi

Lost most of the hair on my head the first week. Although my eyelashes & eyebrows thinned didn't lose them completely until the week after I finished treatment, much to my disappointment but they started to grow back within 2 weeks & now 3 months later they are thicker & darker than ever. My hair is completely grey but its just great to have it back.

So I guess we are all different when it comes to this.

Love Linda xx
