This reflux pain is worse than any I have had before and it is so disabling around 5/6 days post-chemo. I already take Omeprazole daily and have started taking Ranitidine in addition, which helps very slightly.
Any advise please?

I am one of the support line nurses at Ovacome. I am sorry to hear of the pain thatr you are experiencing. I wonder if you have had a chance to get in touch with either your specilaist nurse, one of the dotocrs at the hospital or your GP. I think that it is important you let them know the amount of pain that you are in so that they can either give you some different medication and/ or check what is causing it. Have you ever had anything like this before? If you would like to discuss things further do give us a ring on 08457310554
Best Wishes

I contacted my GP this morning, who in turn told me to ring the Chemo Triage Unit. I do suffer from reflux and take Omeprazole daily (previously used Ranitidine as required).
The Chemo Triage Nurse advises that chemo can cause further problems with reflux and she was agreeable to my GP's suggestion of doubling the Omeprazole every morning for a few weeks to gain control and adding in Gavison Advance as required. I do hope this works!
Thanks for offering your telephone number - I will certainly bear it in mind for any future problems.
Hi Bunty
I had 7 cycles of Taxol/carboplatin and was given an infusion of ranitidine before each one - in between the anti-emetic and the anti-histamine. Maybe that's what helped me so if you're not getting that then worth a try?
good luck and hugs from Janbeegee
I do have the ranitidine before chemo too but that is to cover the day of chemo not 5/6 days later. Thanks for your reply jan.
