How long does a course of chemo last?

This depends. Usually, the first course (called line) of chemo is 6 treatments at 3 week intervals (called cycles). However, this may be delayed or changed for various reasons. A change of chemo drug or drug combination, if a 2nd or 3rd line is being undertaken, could be at 4 week intervals.

Although it is 6 treatments the intervals could be longer if your white cell count is too low, this is the blood test you have before each session. I remember really not wanting to go for my 4th session but when they told me i couldnt have it as my count was too low i was upset. I did have the treatment 2 weeks later hence the treatment laster longer.
