How long does it take get results of ca125?

Finally plucked up the courage to ask gp for this test. She had assumed consultant had already carried it out ( which he should have)

My results are with the gp the day after the test - so ring for them.

It depends on where the lab is that processes the test. Until last week it took around 2 days for mine as be hospital had to send them elsewhere. They must have expanded our local hospital's facilities, as I had the results when I sa my oncologist, 3 hours after having the test! Xxx Chris

The CA125 taken at the hospital through my GP takes a few days...and you can ring up your GP for the results... they will usually say if it is normal or not ...but will only give the number if you ask...best ishes love x G x

If the bloods were taken early afternoon then we get them first thing next morning, if taken late afternoon then it tends to be lunchtime. We have on 2 occasions had them same day but this is very rare. Some GPs may take longer as the test is off site and depends on courier movements to the labs. Good luck love Paul x

I didn't hear for three weeks when the consultant sent out a letter saying all ok. I was happy to wait, got another one due Friday, had some pains in my side so not quite looking forward to my appointment is the best way to put it.

Awh hopefully all will be ok for you Lily-Anne. I found out a while ago it takes 7 days in my gp practice.. Hate waiting, though all my other routine bloods are normal. I don't understand how when I have a constant low grade temperature past 2 months and feel miserable.

I have had same day results often but mid PM earliest when taken early morning - it does take a few hours. Try and push a bit, I am sure things can be speeded. Fingers crossed for you that a)it is a good indicator and b) the results are low

I have my bloods done 2 days before every visit to the consultant or oncology clinic. That always includes CA125. In addition my GP gets it done whenever I am worried and usually has the results within 48 hours, allowing for the daily lab collections and getting the results online. He always phones me personally to let me know the result.

I know I am lucky.

I get my labs& chest port flushed 1 wk before seeing Dr. He always has all results prior to visit I been blessed my Ca125 is @ 4 right now,I will be 1 yr remission July 11 th. hope all goes well for you! I have PPC and have been doing very well except for those aching back bones! I have found simple walks and swimming to be very helpful. ~ peace~ love~happiness!
