Hi Ladies

This forum is such a huge help and it’s good to keep in touch with the regular posts of each and every journey. I made friends on here with a lovely lady a few years ago who was under the same consultant as me and we used to meet for coffee and chats and it was wonderful having that in person contact and support. We were often in the chemo suite together and would have a big hug, helping each other through.

However she sadly became another teal angel 18 months ago and I miss her greatly, think of her every day. I was just wondering if there are any other ladies in my area who would like to meet up. I am in Hornchurch, my oncologist is Dr El Khouly at Queens hospital Romford. Would love to hear from any of you nearby.

Big hugs to you all

Claire xx

Although not in your area I do understand that it is good to actually meet in person others in the same or similar position. Nobody else has that real depth of understanding (not even partners). Hope you are able to meet up with someone. I met up with a group of ladies a few years ago and it was great. Also met up with a lady in Germany when I was there- again great. Fingers crossed for you.

I’m so sorry you lost such a lovely friend and support but thankful you met her through this app. I’ve not met anyone off here but I have had great support and advice from ladies living or having lived this shared experience.

Im lucky to have my fun bus buddy Paul in hospital with me on the C unit, he’s got bowel cancer and we met going to RT together every morning on the fun bus as we call it. Even though we’re different genders and going through different C types we’ve found so much in common to bond over. We have the same dark humour and he’s made all this more bearable with the memories we’ve made and he’s said the same.

This is my third C diagnosis breast in 2004, ovarian in 2017/18 and now my reoccurrence with an abdomen tumour (gone thanks to RT) so just my BC tumour to beat now. Which I’m determined to conquer and celebrate with all my friends & family at my hat-trick party. This can be the darkest times of our lives but with the right positive mindset we can make friends to last a lifetime and some lovely memories along the way. Best wishes to you all 🩵
