I've a lot of pelvic pain and wind and bloating which got worse last two weeks. Worse pain at night lying down. Also burping a lot.

My last blood test for liver was high so don't know what to take. Any suggestions welcome. Dull nag and bloating

Morning Sorry to hear that, I empathise with you as I suffer the same pain and stomach issues. I have been given oral morphine for when I really need it, although it makes constipation worse (there's always a catch!) So I only take it if its really need to otherwise I stick with paracetamol. That may not be ok with liver problems however. Has your GP recommended anything?

thanks Kazzh for your reply. My last bloods I had raised liver function. Did you get burping with it...I feel like trapped wind pain too. I have to go to GP. Haven't been back since my last flare up which doc thought was IBS and then sent me for scan and they found the complex ovarian cyst. I wish I knew if just menopause, upset tum, IBS or the ovarian cyst... bloating but pain is below belly when I press on it. Nagging knawning worse after eating. I'll have to take paracetemol.. it has gone very bad last few weeks but a lot of stress in background caring for mum

I was reading your profile info and you have alot going on, feel for you. Are you having chemotherapy at this time or are these general health concerns, sorry I assumed you were on chemo, as my symptoms are chemo related. I wonder if an antacid like Lanzoprazole may help. Acid reflux can cause burping, gas and wind. It really helps me with the stomach issues I get with chemo. Can you prop yourself up in bed so you arnt lying flat? Worth a try.

You mention caring for your mum. Are you getting support as a carer? You could ask your local social services for an assessment for yourself and your mum. There is support out there. Sounds like you need some 'me' time.

Keep your chin up & thinking of you xx

No support yet. Had support for 3 years caring for my dad with Lewy body Parkinson’s. Can’t bear thoughts of carers back in house for mum. It was like a train station before but the worst was public health nurses trying to push my dad into nursing home. I still have ptsd from their nosiness intruding etc.

Not doing chemo in limbo back for a scan of complex ovarian cyst end Feb so will know a bit more then. Seems everything I eat hurts. I’m going to stick with buscopan to see if it eases it. I’m blown up again bloating. Thanks for your advice. Like this over 2 weeks but it has got worse.

Hi Ova104, When I get stressed I can get a cramp in my tummy (not severe pain as such) and trapped wind. I find wind tablets or capsules can get rid of the wind (recently had to take 8 a day and gradually reduce until stopped) and that was followed by a nagging tummy cramp for which I take Buscopan (prescribed by doctor) and now feeling better and wind gone. I hope it is something simple but you need to consult your doctor. Best wishes, Emma x

thanks so much for advice. It's like pelvic pain and trapped wind. I've been really stressed so wonder if that is flaring it worse. It's dull knawing cramping can be sore when bloated. I had burping this morning and it seemed to take some of the pressure down. Buscopan I took years ago and some here might take it. I'll make apt with doc. I am back for ultrasound for stomach soon...and then tv ultrasound repeat end of month. Never ending.. just uncomfortable and tired and it felt this morning like periods were going to start. Please God no... worse lying down at night.

hoping it will turn out to be stomach upset by stress. Emma x

yeah me too. I have a history of a stress tum. But I only found out a few years ago had endometriosis so the IBS they said it prob wasn't that at all. Was nearly 47 when I found out I had endo never knew but told docs for years cripping monthly pain but they said it was normal just bad periods... God the amount of useless medical don't get me started...

I caught the noro virus in an airport and it cause awful pelvic pain with gas. I also took too many antiinflamatory drugs like Aleve when I had terrible pain in my hip and it was starting to damage my gut and causing pain. I tried various medications, but in each case what stopped the gas was 1 tsp of baking soda in a glass of warm water.

Thanks so much. I’m feeling now when I eat stomach is upset. Burping today anything I eat or drink. I used to have gastritis so don’t know if that has flared up. I’ll try bicarbonate of soda. I’m in on 15th to do repeat tumour markers so going to say to doc did I pick up something else. Noro virus was doing rounds here. Hope you are ok. XX thanks again feel so uncomfortable. I tried buscopan but hasn’t done anything. Sore midriff to add to my pelvic pain. Shoot me!

No I wasn't vomiting. It was mostly pain in my gut. My friend had the same symptoms. I was in Dallas and I read that they were having a noro virus outbreak.

Do you always throw up with norovirus?

The norovirus incubation period is about 12 to 48 hours. So if you get infected, you'll probably go from feeling completely healthy to absolutely miserable within a day or two after exposure. Typical symptoms include nausea, vomiting (more often in children), watery diarrhea (more often in adults), and stomach cramps.Mar 5, 2023
