Most of the platins don't cause hair loss. I had carboplatin on its own and didn't lose my hair. Fingers crossed for you!

I’ve lost my hair 4 times now as I’ve had taxol for front line and my 3 recurrences. I’ve always done the bald look, I did buy a lovely wig, just never felt comfortable. This time, finished in March this year, I was so worried the chemo wouldn’t work I didn’t really bother about the hair loss. Luckily for me it did work again, 7 months later I’ve got a full head of hair and starting to feel more like myself. I know it’s devastating but as long as the chemo works our hair grows back. Good luck with your treatment. Val. X

Thank you. I know I do feel lucky that chemo works on me, for some who doesnt they leave with less choice and harsher side effects.

Yes, I lost my hair in 2008 and 2014 due to chemo. I had it cut short in advance so it was less traumatizing. Wore cute turbans and scarves, and occasionally a wig. Try to remind yourself it’s Time Limited.

I lost mine twice. The first time it grew back really curly and that was fun. This time it’s coming back straight. Both times it is Silver. I had a choice to go with Doxil for my first recurrence but I chose Taxol because it worked the first time. It was the right choice it worked again!.

I didn’t lose all my re growth after the op break. I had three carbo taxol after the op. It took away the front and the sides mainly and I was happy in my wigs anyway esp with it being winter. After it finished those bits grew back and I didn’t ‘start from scratch’. I really liked my re growth and decorated it with cute Alice bands. Unfortunately I’ve just lost it all again as back on carbo taxol for recurrence so back it is to my wigs, which I had refurbished: steam cleaned and re straightened. Will be warmer I. winter anyway as I always had long hair. Btw I ate lots of berries and drank lots of hot water, which always gave me a think mane of hair before diagnosis and it grew back nice and thick - plenty of it. Best wishes.

:( 3 times.

I did wear the ice helmet last week and as my hair just started to grow, I hope it has help to keep some if not all. I will see in two weeks how it is before the next chemo. I just hope so …
