Hi Alex29. If your diagnosis is specifically low grade OC has your oncology team explored the treatment route specifically for low grade OC?
For example hormone inhibitors and Trametinib?
Have you looked at the info available on cureourovariancancer website which is a charity specific for research into low grade OC?
LGOC is known to be less responsive to chemo. So just because it’s not working it doesn’t mean that there is nothing else to try. Some oncology teams aren’t familiar with it and might need to seek advice from an LGOC specialist.
Please get a second opinion asap from a top cancer center and a specialist in low grade. I don’t know where you live but MD Anderson, Mayo Clinic, MSK in NY, Dana Farber in Boston are some good options.
can you request you take part in a trial ? There are some excellent immunotherapy drugs undergoing clinical trials — Don’t give up and please ask to be referred to a specialist centre . 🙏❤️
You are in the US, go get a 2nd opinion, at city of hope, if you can see Dr Amy hakim, she's in mission hills, Monrovia area los Angeles best wishes liz
