I am 8 months on from second surgery in London. My recent CT scan, bloods and CA125 show no evident disease and a CA125 of 14 (down from 16 3 months ago). I am so pleased and I hope my good news cheers ladies up somewhat, particularly after all the awful news we've had lately of lovely ladies who have surcumbed to this horrible disease. I am not complacent and I'm fully aware of how this disease can do a turnabout!!! Love and best wishes to all. Gwen

Low Grade Ovarian
Hi Gwen, this is so good to know, congratulations! Did you have any adjuvant/neoadjuvant treatment besides surgery? My mother is also low grade, stage III, but it is sow much spread in the abdomen they cannot operate yet, she is on carboplatin/paclitaxel/bevacizumab, but after 4 cycles the response has been very mild, will keep on bevacizumab if next scan looks the same, until surgery gets feasible or disease progression. Enjoy being NED, long may it last!!
Hi Seshat2,
Thanks for your reply. And yes, I'm keeping everything crossed that it lasts. Post my scond second surgery I was put on Aromasin (hormone inhibitor as my cells are strongly and diffusely oestrogen sensitive) and I remain on this. No big issues re. side effects. I was initially diagnosed 3b nearly 5 years ago now, this December/January. I do hope your mum has enough of a response with the bevacizumab to enable surgery. Best wishes and good luck for this. Gwen xx
Hi Gwen. Love hearing your good news, especially for low grade OC which is so tricky to treat effectively. Long may it continue this way.
We are on a similar schedule by the way. My second surgery for low grade serous OC happened in Feb this year. Will have my scan around year end. Until then, only ca125 and gyn exam. I'm running about with an elevated tumour marker though (86 in Aug) , as opposed to your 14. Still, here's hoping. Xx. Maus
Hi Maus123,
Thanks for your reply. Yes not a lot of us low graders about so It's always interesting to read messages from low graders with our type being so different to high graders. I'm abig believer in sharing information. Good luck with your next scan and whilst, as you say, your CA125 is elevated it isn't "the be all and end all" - please keep us informed.
Best wishes. Gwen xx
So pleased for you Gwen long may it continue for you xxx get out there and do some living now 😃

Hi Lily-Anne, Zena and SuzanneKau,
Only just picked up your kind messages as I've been "off air" for the last 3 weeks being in Spain. Just got back home last night. I'm hoping to attend the support meeting in Manchester on 28th Nov. Best wishes to all.
