So I was diagnosed in Nov 2024. Had complete hysterectomy PLUS in February. Have now been on Letrozole for a month. CA-125 numbers have not yet dropped. My question is, how long did it take YOU to find a drug or treatment that worked and stabilized you, were your cancer was no longer spreading or growing? Just curious (and anxious!) Thanks!

Hey, I started letrozole (post surgery then chemo) in November 2024 and my scan in January showed improvement. I have a tiny residue spot on my liver which they said had become barely visible! Next scan on 30th of April 🤞Everyone react differently though! I am determined to continue with the letrozole despite some annoying side effects, it's working for me. Best wishes
Hi,
Just wanted to say that CA125 can also be elevated for other reasons and you are still recently out of surgery so your body is still recovering. Hopefully continuing on the letrozole will see them drop further 🤞 when do you have your next scan?
Completely understand your anxiety - I feel like I live between scans at the moment x
My next scan will be at the end of May. I did have a pretty wicked chest cold that cleared up not a week before that blood test and I'm reading that could be a factor as well. I can see where "scan anxiety" is going to be a real thing from now on. Best of luck on yours, and prayers for each of facing this diagnosis. It's quite a tough road.
Hi, I'm exactly a year ahead of you (diagnosed in Nov 23) - my CA 125 was 1000 when diagnosed and came down to 8 by the end of chemotherapy (carboplatin). Had a good run for a year and now its started going up again, though my scans are clear and I feel completely fine. I'm told it's not the most reliable indicator though so hang in there.
