Six months post op

hi guys,

I just wanted to post a little happy post, I was diagnosed in February with stage 3c low grade serous, after a successful operation I had all ascitis removed, peritoneal stripping, three tumours, full hysterectomy, some omentum and liver removed. It’s been exactly six months and eight days and today I climbed five mountains and am cancer free. There is always hope, I know I’m extremely lucky but I wanted to share this with you as six months ago I couldn’t walk from room to room without being exhausted! And when I looked for positive stories they were few and far between. I hope this helps some of you who are newly diagnosed or just looking for a little light xx

Well done. Did you have chemotherapy after your operation? xx

Thank you, I had one round of carbo and had high toxicity to it, To be honest it’s not very effective for low grade serous so after a lot of debating and researching I decided to stop it and not have any further treatment. It seems if it’s gonna come back it doesn’t regardless of what you do 🤷‍♀️ So I decided to draw a line and hope for the best. Xx

Absolutely fantastic news. Long may it last. Now you can look forward to the future with renewed hope. I was stage 3C diagnosed 9 years ago and there are others surviving even longer but they don't always post these day. There is still so much to look forward to for you too. All the very best. xx

That’s such great news, thanks for sharing. I am a fellow low grader, stage 3c and had my op in March this year. I wish I had found this group sooner as felt quite isolated. I opted not to go down the chemo route as was told not very successful for low grade. Your success gives me hope if the Tamoxifen doesn’t work. Got my next follow up Appt in 4 weeks. Fingers crossed it is keeping things at bay, they removed all but a 0.5cm area of tumour. I have been feeling really well since July and back doing pretty much everything I used to do.

Good luck for your op, you will definitely do it just remember to be patient with yourself and don’t push to hard to soon. A lesson I learnt the hard way haha 😂 and watch out for hernias. Other than that I have no doubt you will be climbing in no time xx

Yes I'm going to find it really tough not doing anything but I am going to take your advice as I've read a few ladies suffering hernias! Thank you x
