Was was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer in Feb 2020 and I had primary debulking surgery followed by carbo/taxol chemotherapy every 3 weeks. I have been diagnosed with reoccourance april 2022 and will need an abdominal tumour removed and possibly bowel resection and stenting my ureter. They have decided to go with chemo 1st to hopefully shrink to try and make the operation less complicated. It will be a larapotomy cut eitherway like my previous debulking. My chemo started 6 weeks later.
What I'm wondering is I've worked out my operation if in line with my 3 cycles of 3 weekly chemotherapy will be around 5th September. My daughter gets married 22nd October so I'm trying work out how it's all going fall. How many weeks post op did anyone else restart the rest of their chemotherapy ? Thank you

Hello, I think it depends on how well you heal (mine was 10 weeks) but I would encourage you to talk to your oncologist. They have a responsibility to care for your mental well being as well as your cancer treatment. Tell them you want to be at the wedding…how can they make it happen? With any luck they will be able to adjust your chemo/surgery schedule to ensure you are there. We are not just cancer patients after all, we are people with lives and special moments we want to live to see xx
Hi, I am sure you are really looking forward to your daughters special day & hopefully you will be well enough to enjoy it. I was on front line chemo in 2019 & as far as I can remember I started about 6 weeks after my op. Talk to to your oncologist or someone on your team & tell them about your daughters upcoming wedding. I am positive they will jiggle your treatment & work around it as this is a huge moment in both your daughters & your life. Slightly less important was our planned holidays abroad in the middle of my chemo cycle but my team just stretched my 3 week interval to 5 weeks instead so it can be done. I know the wedding is a bit away yet but it's what will help you get through the difficult days. 🤞It will all work out for you
