Hi! Send you all a big hug, hoping only good news for your health.

Finally my doctor told me my treatment: Carbo platin + gemzar + Avastin, 6 cicles, hooefulky with that the peritoneum cáncer will dissapear. After that, mainteinance with rucarib or olaparib

Decision made after reading a test called Foundation One, done to my 2019 tumor, high grade in fallopian tube, stage 1.

Accepting comments if you have done this treatment or a y advice 🤗🙏❣️

Hi MarylightSounds like they are throwing everything at it…I haven’t had this combination but I have had carboplatin, Avastin and currently Olaparib.

I suspect that if you were stage 1 to begin with they are doing everything to try to stop it now it has come back. Are you BRCA positive? Hope it all goes well for you…you will be pretty tired but just treat yourself kindly xx

Hi Marylight. I got the same combination last year. When chemo was finshed no ascites anymore. The sideeffects are tolerable and disappeared, after the end of 6the Chemo- cycle. Good luck Karin

I received the same treatment (called Oceans protocol). It was a breeze, as the Carbo was given in a lower metronomic dose. When the Gemzar was infused I had to have the nurses slow down the rate, as it burned a bit if given too fast. It’s tougher on the veins, and I don’t have a port. Did Foundation One check for HRD status? Even if you’re BRCA negative, the Parp inhibitor may work if so. I am now on a clinical trial with Olaparib and an ATR inhibitor that they’re studying at Dana Farber. Best wishes for a smooth and successful experience!

Thanks so much, yesterday I got my first round, I decided not to use a port this time, it happened what you said with de gemzar but ok, Im very hopefull besides all. Im going to check the FO test, I think it does have HRD status. Send you a big hug, and hope your treatment goes great!!

Hi, can you give me some more information about this foundation one please. Is it available in the Uk?

My sister is on her first reoccurrence after 4 months. She has had 5 chemotherapy sessions but CA125 markers are going up. I read about this on another post and want to find out if this is something I could look into.

Hi, I did Foundation One a few weeks ago, Im in Panamá, same price for the test as UK USD3,350, that price included the sending to USA of the tumor sample.

If it cant be done in UK, they send it to US through a local lab that is how I did it, in the web or your oncologogist (he helped me) , or ovacome could give you reference of a local lab that coordinates the sending of the sample to Foundation One, 15 days aprox for the results, on line of course.

I even asked for the sample back to Panamá for further test back here, you should be able to do that too, no extra cost for that.

Best of lucks! And hope the info is helpful.

Regards, Maryluz

So have you received the test results back yet?

I’m trying to get in touch with my sisters consultant to ask if this would be helpful to her.

Yes, very complete and strongly recomend the test, in 3 weeks I got it

27 pages of análisis on the mutations, possible treatments based on Research done in other similar cases, and nd helped the doctor define a better treatment, 3 possible inmmunotherapies came up, that could be helpful to adress 3 of the mutations found.

Work to be done after 6 new cicles with suggested Carbo platin + gemzar + avastin.

Had my first infusión on Tuesday and Im feeling fine, its been gente to me so far.

My sister also takes care of me, ❣️🤗 good luck and any more info just let me know, best wisher for your sister! 🙏!

Thank you so much. I have just read a post where a gentleman’s wife used it under Christie’s hospital in Manchester. That’s where she is. So they do use it. It isn’t the same one but doesn’t matter, same thing. Gosh I’m feeling positive.

You must do the test, ask for it, I asked for it when cáncer first came up, but as it I was stage 1A, BRCA negative in blood and no family history, doctor considered it was no necessary, as my chances of reccurrence where very low, 2 years later here I am... and I asked for it.

And positive that the test results and sugestions wilk help in my outcome 🙏🙏

Another thing, my insurance covered part of the test, so if you have it should cover or pay you back

No insurance. The family will all chip in I’m sure. Don’t care if I’m eating soup for the rest of my life. She’s worth it.

Could I ask. The treatment you are getting. Is it in tablet form?

Marylight profile image
Marylight in reply to nettiebobs

Hi! No, right now Im having chemo Carbo platin + Gemzar + a monoclonal medication called Avastin, IV at the same time, pills will come later, which may not be chemo but inmunotherapy (olaparib or Rucarib)

Remember there are several types of chemo IV, oral, combinations, your sister`s case and medical criteria will define whats best to use 🤗♥️🙏

I’ve asked her consultant. He will be looking to see if it is appropriate. She cannot have tablets as it is in her stomach.
