have you also had chemo? i had pain and a lump about 8 months after - turned out to be a recurrence. don't want to scare you though. apparently my types of cancer were very likely to recur although no one told me that. see my previous posts re umbilical nodule.
could be nothing but i would still get it checked out. xx
Hello and welcome! I certainly had some pain and discomfort long after the external scar had healed. Not all the time but occasionally it would just stab at me, not always at the scar site. I would ask your oncologist or surgeon to check your abdomen and to make sure there’s no hernia. Hopefully this will be reassuring. I joined a gym session for cancer patients about 6 months after treatment and it was great to help me rebuild my muscles and my confidence. xx
My oncologist said that since the surgeons probe around during surgery and there can be a lot of internal scar tissue .She gives the area a good examination everytime I see her to make sure the area is soft . I find that anything that rubs can irritate it , like a metal button or zipper . I am two years out of surgery .
Get it checked to give you piece of mind .

Morning ! I’m over 12 months post op (no chemo) but it took at least 12 months to recover from the operation ,& even now I still get nightly pains. You body has been through brutal treatment and just because the outside looks “healed” there’s still a lot adjusting inside ! Be kind to yourself ,6 months is still early days ! Lots of love
I had similar discomfort for a year. Just keep telling your medical team so they know the side effects and impact of these operations. I’ve been looked at sceptically about some operation side effects I’ve reported but they need to hear it. We are helping other women who will face this in the future. Good luck and keep moving toward. ❤️
Good morning
Pain after surgery is perfectly normal, I’ve had 2 major open abdominal ops in the last 5 and a half years. My last surgery August 2017. I still get soreness even now. Don’t forget the damage surgery does to your body. They not only cut through skin, fat and muscle but also through nerves. You get so much scar tissue afterwards. I find exercise especially swimming helps to stretch that scar tissue. Also do some gentle abdominal massage and use bio oil. 6 months post op is not very long so try not to worry. As one of the women said, mention it when you next see your Oncologist. Good luck
