Is it good if they will confirm operation? Or ir is unreal in such situation? Is there anyone who have remission after such situation with a lot of metastases? How long it was? Sorry so much question… but i want to belive in miracle

Hi Sorry to hear about your mum and I am not sure I can answer your questions but what I can say is that I was diagnosed in October 2007 with OC 3B, BRAC2. My first remission was nearly 4.5 years before I reoccurred. My second recurrence was about 14months later. I achieved remission again in August 2013 and have been in remission since albeit on Olaparib (initially on a trial). There is hope out there, there are maintenance drugs, trial drugs (I have been on 3). Big hug to you both. Kathy xx
How many years did you take olaparib??.I have started 10 months now and in two years if it stills works my doctor will put me out?…and I can’t get why?if something works why should I stop it?…is it because of toxic?I am really happy to hear that you are working on it so many years you gave me a lot of strength…
I want to stay in olaparib too but my insurance won’t cover it…I am fighting this disease 9 years now…I am brac1 positive-may I ask if you have expoany hair loss…I have been takin olaparib for 10 months now and two weeks now I have noticed a great amount of hair loss when I wash them or brush them??..is it possible to be bald again or is it something sporadically?
I experience iron deficiency because of lynpraza that this may have caused the hair loss I suppose…any tips during so many years of remission?have you changed anything in your diet or lifestyle?
Hi. The fact that your mom had a long remission is a good sign. Sometimes they do second surgery but only if they can get all the cancer. Hopefully chemo will do the job and then she’ll take a PARP inhibitor for maintenance. A lot of women have those pains with taxol but they should only last a couple of days each cycle. Sending hugs.
Is it easy for you in UK grt PARP inhibitors? They are free? In Latvia it is not easy, we need to add avastin for second line chemo, but they cant, they say only if you will make operation that only we can add :((( but if they will not make operation what than? :(((
The bone and stomach pains are normal but should only last two or three days. Not everyone can take avastin as it can cause bleeding, my oncologist said. But chemotherapy works well without it. Please try not to be so scared and worried. Hopefully it will give her another long remission. Many people live years without an operation. Best wishes x
