Hope everyone is keeping as well as possible, got my first hug in a long time from my daughter and 4 year old granddaughter yesterday which was very emotional!
My scan is booked for tonight, not at usual hospital but a 30 minute drive away through heavy teatime traffic. No sign of IV nurse being booked.
Bloods tomorrow at GP.
Consultant next Wednesday for results.
Feel as though things are changing very quickly and have become very emotional.
Not sure the Letrozole is having any effect at all. Bloating seems to be increasing and more and more uncomfortable, putting on socks is a real challenge! There has never been much ascites in the past so the swelling is out down to omental caking which is becoming more and more uncomfortable/painful.
Have met Prof P who thinks I could be suitable for trials if Letrozole is not working,but I feel things have gathered pace so much since we saw her that I am scared that may no longer be an option.
Moan over!
Any news next week can't be worse than I am already thinking.
It’s good to hear from you, Janet, though it would be better if you felt well. The whole anxiety around scans is awful. But it’s lovely you got to hug your family! Hang in there til you see your consultant. Keep distracted if you’re able. Sending positive vibes. Xx
Janet , so lovely to hear that you had the long awaited hugs,& totally understand why it was so emotional for you.I hope your meeting with Consultant is better than you are anticipating. Great that you were able to meet Professor P, & I hope that a suitable trial may be found.
There always seems so much waiting to be done,either for test results or scans and it is no wonder we all get so stressed.
Oh Janet, I am so pleased that you have hugged your daughter and granddaughter. I am hoping to hug my children at weekend but I my never let go.I am however so saddened to read how worn down you feel and your symptoms. I am very pleased to hear you have a scan and an oncologist who is thinking of everything. I do hope the result are better than you think and that a plan is put in place. Hoping the sun shines on you for next few days and that you get to see people you love and do what you want. Sara xxx
Thanks for reply. The hugs were amazing, she is the granddaughter I thought I would never see as I was on chemo when she was born.Hope you get your hugs too. It's amazing how much the simple things come to mean to us, try to enjoy every precious moment.
this disease puts us on an emotional rollercoaster so happy you finally got to hug your daughter and granddaughter great healing emotionally with that. Hang tough until your scan and consult you can do this .........Again!!!!
