Ode to a poo - hope it makes you all smile!

Surgery is over

What to do?

All I can think about

Is when will I poo?

Struggling to walk

Also in pain

But what’s most important

Is when will I poo?

Trying to drink

Increasing the steps

Still no signs as yet…

of being able to poo

Buckets lists

Things to do

Top of my list..

is having a poo

Trapped wind and belching hurts

Farting is such a relief

I am now dreaming…

when will I poo?

Drinking more

Awaiting the urge

Certainly windy

but will I be able to poo?

Laxatives administered

Feeling relieved

Now I’m thinking

What time will I poo?

Awake early

Excitement begins

Its time, its time

I’m going to have a poo

The day is over

Thinking of tomorrow

Will I be able

to have another poo!

Made me smile! I remember it well, it took me about a week to "go" and the wind was grim!😱 🤣

Loved this. I feel like concern with constipation has ruled my life since diagnosis!🤪

😄 I was kept on a ‘light diet’ for about five days after my op which really didn’t help as there wasn’t really anything for my gut to process! In the end they finally let me have some real food. Such a relief!
