Immunotherapy Treatment in Spain

Hi has anyone looked into immunotherapy/ Dentritic cell therapy treatment in spain for ovarian cancer through companies like immucura. I am half way through my weekly paclitaxol and have just had a scan to see if a biopsy can be taken if so I can enter the Immunotherapy PROMPT study here in the uk . My oncologist has warned me that at first glance there does not seem to be a suitable biopsy site available....no biopsy no trial unfortunately awaiting a specialist view on the scan. Failing getting on the trial I was thinking of maybe looking into private immunotherapy treatment in spain any thoughts from you all would be much appreciated.

I think it would be expensive. A friend of mine raised £40,000 for 5 infusions of Keytruda and that is nowhere near enough. Unless you have insurance that would cover it?

Hi. What is your tumor’s mutational burden? Do you have PD-L1 expression? As far as I know immunotherapy doesn’t work that well for most OC cases, though perhaps as a combined agent it will. Before spending a lot of money I would research the chances of its working for your specific tumor.

Well not really but my onc in france says when done w taxol in 4 months we will go to immunotheraly no mention of needing a biopsy altho we have cell samples on file. The taxol w light fasting is proving to be very effective

Hello Silver, I am in the US and have been on Keytruda every three weeks for 9 cycles. 10th is coming up this week. My insurance didn't cover it, but my oncologist was able to get it for me directly though Merck (merckaccessprogram-keytruda... I'm not sure how it works in the UK or Spain. After 8 treatments, my numbers have started to drop (just a little). Hopefully it's not a fluke. Definitely not like chemo and no need for steroids. I feel pretty much back to normal.

That said, my doctors are trying to keep me from getting worse, not necessarily to cure me. I have chest tubes in to drain fluid from around my lungs that continues to accumulate. But no new tumor activity, which in my book is a win.

Good luck and look into any trials are drug payment assistant plans that you can find. They are out there.

hugs,

Kim
