WEEKLY TAXOL UPDATE.

Hi Ladies

Started weekly Taxol beginning of September. Side effects not too bad, usual nausea and constipation!

CA125 down to 224 from 673 after 2 infusions so fingers crossed it is going the right way!

New "hair" arriving by courier this afternoon, thought I was getting away with it just thinning but not to be. Ordered silver/grey but my 10 year old granddaughter said I should get brown cos it would make me look a lot younger!

Scan in 5 weeks, usual apprehension.

Hope everyone doing as week as possible in these strange times.

Glad it's going well Jan. Bless your granddaughter, they are funny aren't they! Mine's 5 going on 50 sometimes! Hopefully in 5 weeks you get a good scan result. Easy to say I know but try not to worry about the scan, worrying wont change anything just make you feel miserable and let's face it there's enough misery at the moment! Big hug, Kathy xx

Thanks Kathy, fingers crossed.

Out of the mouths of babes eh?!

All the best Janet, I think we all know how you feel. Great your CA125 is going in the right direction. Try to take one day at a time ( easier said than done I know). There are days I feel able to cope better than others ( mainly depends on my physical health).

Please be kind to yourself xxx

Thank you. Hair just arrived, looks just like my own so quite happy.

Take care

Welcome to the Taxol club Janet.

I joined 8 weeks ago. Fourth line. Finding the regime ok. Although attending weekly with no breaks is a pain. Luckily no sickness, only have to be careful with gastro issues first few days. My ca has come down but not as quickly as yours has. Awaiting ct results.

A pain loosing hair but a small price to pay and better in the winter months than in the summer.

Good luck for your remaining chemos.

Hi Sylvia

Thanks for reply. I have three weeks on and one off with this regime.

Fourth line for me too if you don't count Caelyx which only lasted for three before it was decided it was not working. My "hair" arrived today and is so like my own I was pulling at a straggly piece which turned out to be mine!

Wishing you lots of luck with your results and hopefully we will beat this.

I start weekly Taxol in 2 weeks’ time so was pleased to hear you are doing well. Found out yesterday that it has spread to my liver. Hope the Taxol will zap it. I have my wig at the ready. Dreading losing my hair. It’s a first for me.

in reply to juliamillen

Hi

Thanks for reply.

Found it strange at first when I lost my hair but became very easy just popping wig on and being ready to go.

The Taxol has been much easier than the other chemos not so many side effects.

My next blood test results are due and my I pad is red hot checking if they are there yet!

Good luck with the Taxol, will be thinking of you.

Take care

Hello Julia. Your On a similar regime to me. I start Taxol next Friday as my C has speed to my liver too. The oncologist told me Taxol goes right through our bloodstream and could very well hit the modules in the liver. He’s very matter of fact so I trust his every word.

I feel confident it could work for us. 🤞 lots of love and all the very best.

Thank you that is very helpful news as I have just found out my cancer has spread to my liver. I start in a couple of weeks’ time so let’s keep in touch. I have not lost my hair before so am rather dreading that side of things. Good luck with your treatment

Great to hear all is going well and your body is responding well to the Taxol. My Grandaughters 7 and 4 enjoyed pretending to be Nanny with my wig.!! Cant see them at the moment as we ae in tier 3. Feel very cheated but 'it is what it is' my treatment is ongoing until next August.

So pleased for you that the numbers are going down and long may that continue.I am having weekly taxol and carboplatin just had my 13 th dose of 18.Had a few issues but most recent scan shows good response so I hope your scan results are good. Chris xx

Hi Chris

Thanks for reply.

Unfortunately I became resistant to carboplatin so it's Taxol only.

Glad your recent scan shows good progress, fingers crossed we are both on the right path.

Best wishes for the rest of your treatment.
