Karen could I ask if you lost your hair on weekly taxol
I had really thick hair and it started to go very thin so much so I had to wear a scarf but not until about week 8 or so, but I was told by my oncologist I would lose it all and he was surprised every time I saw him and I still had hair and it lasted so long xx
Hi Morag
Am on weekly taxol but also carboplatin right now. Just had my 8th and after my 9th am due a scan so as yet don't really know how it's going until get scan results. My hair was thick to start with and I still have some but every time I wash it is falling out and is thin now so starting to wear hats and scarfs. Side effects have been mainly fatigue and a little over sensitivity in hands and feet but everything quite mild so far! Wishing you well with your treatment! Some say weekly better as gentler but it I guess the downside is you don' really get a break. Still so far I have no real complaints and seem to be doing well.
All the best

Is it the Tax-Torc trial you're going on? If it is, I was hoping to go on it a couple of years ago. But I'm diabetic, & the day I was due to start on the trial my fasting blood sugar was too high, & they wouldn't let me do it, so I just had weekly taxol on its own. But I do know someone who was on it last year.

Still to have some tests heart scan ct scan bloods next week then if all is ok will start the following week Will keep you posted Morag
I was on weekly taxol last year I had about 16/17 cycles with a 2 month break in between. The first few weeks were fine but then I became really tired and sometimes used a walking stick as I felt a bit unsteady on my feet. I also suffered with joint pains as well as numbness in my hands and feet. I did completely lose my hair and this took about a month or so before it started coming out so I shaved my head and wore buffs and beanies or nothing as it was quite hot. I have almost managed a year without treatment and my CA125 came down from 1700 to 233
