Thanks so much for all

Your kind words - saw the consultant this morning she said it’s 20cms and a mass on my appendix so it’s ALL coming out next Thursday- full hysterectomy !!! Plus they may take my dodgy gallbladder too while they are there 🙄 Not gonna lie I’m absolutely bricking the op

But as you all said feel calmer now I no a plan ! She also said my ascites wasn’t that bad compared to some 😳 and not to even think of the what ifs ,she will be preforming the op too so I’m quite reassured ! Managed to get to 46 and never have an op

And now I’m having nearly all my insides out 🤔

Much love to you all your all amazing support xxx

Get it out ,you'll feel better ,so pleased they're going to do the op , I understand how worried you are but now you're getting treatment you'll feel more in control. Remember ,a day at a time, do let us know how it goes when you're able. Sending love and hugs .

You'll be fine Beachesinsummer. No one wants the op. but it's the only way to get rid of most of the cancer and all if your lucky. I had mine in December and it was the worst thing I had ever had, but you'll soon be fine we have amazing bodies.

Hi there. A plus I found from having the op, was that with all those bits removed, my bladder seems to have expanded & I don't need to go to the loo often. Well there had to be a plus ! Good luck with it. You'll be fine. We all did it, so you will too. Best wishes. Pauline.

I had the op 8 weeks ago, I am 53 so you are a little younger - debulkng and spleen removed. I had previously had inoperable cancer, improved with chemo. When I went into surgery they didn't know if it was operable or not so I may have woken up an hour later to hear they couldn't take it out- I was so pleased to wake up 11 hours ( don't worry your will take that long unless you are told so) to find they had been able to do surgery. Recovery fine so far- just take it was. Easier said than done but try not to worry and do let us know how it goes xxx

How I feel for you! I think when we receive the awful news we are really traumatised. It's a nightmare and you can't really believe it's happening - but it is (not unlike all this awful corona virus business) Hang on in there, you'll get through it all. I was going through the same thing as you thirteen years ago - yes 13 years! Try and have positive thoughts. It was nowhere near as bad as I thought.

Good Luck 🤞With love and a ((( hug))) Solange 😊💐

This reply makes me happy ! I’m so afraid right now ,it seems all my insides are coming out ! I didn’t realise my appendix has a mass on it too? On a positive At least these organs can be removed !!

I just want the op over now !!!! Xx

Wishing you all the luck in the world. Glad you have a plan and you will most likely get to the beach in summer and even before that (assume with your "posting" name, that is a goal!) Just a thought--ask if you can have an epidural--I had one operation (to get a lesion out near my heart before the debulking) with it and one without and I must say, the one with it was a good deal less painful. They keep it in for 24 hours after which--as expected--would be the time you would need it most. Anyway--something to ask about! oxoxo Judy

Hiya, so good that you've got a date so soon for your surgery - mine keeps getting pushed back! Def not looking forward to the big op either, especially the surgical menopause, but it's the best option for now. I had an appointment yesterday with my consultant and she certainly wasn't super positive about the tumors so I'm more worried now than before. Trying to stay positive. We'll be fine. The support on here is helping already - knowing so many on here have been through it before us.

I agree with Maxjor, go with an epidural if you're offered one. I didn't have one for either of my babies but will def have one for this!!

Hope it all goes well xx

This book is well worth a read: "Managing Hot Flushes and Night Sweats: A cognitive behavioural self-help guide to the menopause" by Myra Hunter, Melanie Smith.

It was recommended to me by my surgeon and I found it fairly reassuring about menopausal symptoms. The hot flushes are a bit of a pain, but I'd had all sorts of worries about stuff that it just turns out there isn't good evidence is linked to menopause.

Big recommendation - buy a nice Japanese style hand fan. Adds a bit of glamour to annoying flushes.

Sending lots of love and calm breathing. I had a full hysterectomy in Dec after they found a 20cm mass on one of my ovaries. The operation isn't a whole lots of fun, but I was genuinely surprised how quickly the body starts to feel more normal. Gentle excersize is really important for recovery. Take it slow at first and just slowly increase what you do. Peppermint tea is also a godsend for trapped wind.

My surgery was successful but I was advised to do chemo to reduce risk of recurrence. 4 down 2 to go. But don't worry about that until you need to, one thing at a time, you can do this

Mine is 20cm too and a mass on my appendix too? So that’s coming out ! I’m trying to remain positive but obviously the chemo is playing on my mind ALOT!!! xx

It's not nice, but like me (40) you're young, you really can do this. 6 cycles seemed never-ending initially, but I'm 2/3rds down. Focus on the surgery and physical recovery, if you do need chemo they'll give you a bit of time to recover x
