Hello again Everyone. I hope you're all fighting on and winning! After stage 4a advanced serous OC, chemo, debulking surgery and more chemo, I am battling polymyalgia rheumatica and Osteoporosis.
A new problem of several weeks now is upper abdominal bloating with severe pain, worse when taking deep breaths in. My doctor examined me and palpated my upper abdomen. The pain extends to my upper back between my shoulder blades.
My doctor told me it's most likely an enlarged liver and as I'm still on steroids, that could be one cause. However, she said it could be a recurrence of cancer and has referred me for an urgent scan. I'm terrified now, trying to keep cool but that is no easy task. Any reassurance out there? I need it. 😟 Xx

Sorry to hear this , new symptoms are always worrying. Could it be gall stones? They can be really painful. I have polymyalgia , and it’s awful , trying to get the correct dose of steroids is hard, as it varies so much. Can I ask what dose your on ? Good luck with your scan.
Hello Sheila. I've put myself down to 5mg now. My tongue and mouth are very sore too. If it's not one thing its another. I have upper right leg pain too. Feeling very anxious x
You have done well to get to 5mg fluctuate between 7 and 8. You can set a mouthwash from the chemist four your sore mouth. Try to distract yourself if you can . The anxiety is awful. Let us know how you get on . This forum has been a great help to me when I was in a very dark place x
Good luck with the scan, I hope that you get some reassurances and relief of your symptoms. Hugs xx
I had similar pain a while ago: rib muscles, right side abdomen when lying down or taking deep breath. I had a cancerous spot on liver 1.5cm & I thought it's causing this.
But it turned out to be a rib muscle teared/inflamed. My pain extended to shoulder too.
Don't panic. there are many reasons for this pain on right side. try to distract your mind from overthinking it. Worry will only raise your stress level and add extra burden to your body.
It might sound silly but i picked up a mind trick along the way with OVCA journey. visualize a bunch of balloons, with written titles of things that are worrying you on each. then visualize them fly away then popped in the air. repeat to yourself (i'll deal with this later). just a way to keep your mind free from the terrible thoughts we all have waiting for tests. xoxoxo
It’s the waiting that’s so horrible. Once you know, either way, it may be easier to deal with than you think.
I hope it’s muscle pain. I had high abdominal pains for a year after surgery, that was caused by miliary disease but if you had that the surgeon would have told you.
I think chemo can trigger problems like joint pains etc., my rheumatologist thinks I may have fibromyalgia.
I wish you the best of luck and the best result you could have.
