Hello ladies, mum is out of theatre and in recovery! We have been told that it all went very well and there was hardly any disease left to remove, BUT they found a tiny amount on her appendix that they also removed! ( this has worried me that it was spreading)
But as far as they are concerned all visable disease has been removed ! Nurse told us her ca125 before op was down to 10 after 3rd chemo!
We have all been in tears that all went well ❤️..... should I be concerned about the appendix ? or will chemo sort out anything that might not have been seen?
Once again thank you for listening !
love to you all .. claire xxxxxxx

Hi Claire. So happy your mum's out of theatre and is in recovery, I hope she has a speedy recovery. I know she will be well looked after by you!
My mum had a tiny 4mm piece of disease left on her bowel as the doctors couldn't remove it. We are hopeful the chemo will sort it out but won't know until after mum's scan next week and the next three rounds of chemo. How many more rounds of chemo will your mum have?
Sending you both lots of good wishes and get well hugs to your mum. Take care, love Vickie xx
Thank you vickie! mum has 3 more chemo’s left starting in 4-5 weeks they said! I’ve lots of nursing to do now! hope your mum also has good news! This chemo really does its job!
Thank you lyndy! Yes I really should think like that! It’s out, so hopefully no more! 💞
So happy to hear your news and wishing your Mum a quick recovery. It is encouraging that the doctors feel that they got it all and chemo should take care of any "invisible to the naked eye" remainder. If the surgeon believed the appendix was in jeopardy he/she would have removed it. CA125 is also a great indicator, dropping to 10 after only three rounds.
None of us knows what the future holds for us but it sounds like your Mum is starting her "what comes next" with a great support team. So glad for your good news. Keep us informed as we are all rooting for her.
Thank you! Im so relieved!! been such a worry as you know!! Hopefully the next 3 chemo’s will keep it away forever! I will do! Thank you for support xxxx 💜
Oh no! Get someone on it for more pain relief!! She shouldn’t be suffering. I didn’t have any pain, other than when coughing, sneezing etc, and then holding a pillow tightly over my tummy really helped.
Wonderful news that the surgery was so successful and a CA125 of 10 after only 3 chemos is fantastic! Wishing her all the best for a smooth recovery 😊💕
Thank you gina! the nurse told us it was quite unheard of to be so low before the op and 3 chemo’s so Im hoping this is positive news 💗 lots of love to you also x
Hi Claire I am glad your Mum got good results from surgery, Chemo will mop up any residual disease. Do let us know how your Mum is doing, wishing you both well
Amazing how much we learn in the first fearful months after diagnosis, but once the heavy duty Chemo does its work, we are on the path to wellness and well-being.
Just have to recover from the surgery now.
Make sure mom takes it easy and gets plenty of pain relief!
Hi laura, Think I’m learning as I go along, thanks to all of you, Just got home now from the hospital and they have given her a blood transfusion but she looked good with red cheeks but was very sore! ( to be expected)... hopefully home saturday!
My appendix was taken out as well. Didn't bother me, to be honest. Glad it went so well. Wishing her a speedy recovery (while taking it easy for a couple of weeks). xx. Maus
Hi Claire, really pleased to hear your mum is out of theatre and doing well. They tell you the chemo will mop up any of the smaller cells left behind. The Ca125 is also reassuring. I feel we just have to go with the oncologists, they know better than us. Some of us do get recurrence some of us don’t and we can’t say which group we will be in. Concentrate on getting your mum well again and enjoying time with her. Get her to listen to her body. If she feels different or unwell speak to someone. Meanwhile as I say enjoy time together getting your lives back to the new “normal”
Sending you and your mum lots of love 💕 hugs 🤗 and positive energy xxxxx
Thank you so much! She’s off to bed and has to rest up! oh I cant wait for “ normal” to return!... They were very pleased with her and said the ca125 was amazing! hope you are well xxx
Thank you beewild! She will have to listen now and stop running around!... Feel it’s another major tick off the box! so proud of her, just want her home! 💓💓💓💓
What a wonderful daughter! I am very happy for you and hope your mums recovery is swift - and they removed the appendix so ‘job done’! So pleased for you all x
Such good news Claire! I was in agony after that surgery and they finally had to get the pain management team in to figure out how to help me. They insisted I walk the perimeter of the hospital floor every hour and until they got my pain sorted out, I fought them on it. Once I could I think that walking helped me feel better and better. (I had the sweetest elderly hospital roommate who would peek through her curtain and tell me to "get up and let's go around the floor!" Shamed me into going with her! I didn't believe I would ever feel like my old self but it happened so quickly once home....its the first few days that are hard, then MUCH better. I had to start chemo again after two weeks--thought they were joking (!!!) but I did and I felt ready by then too. Wishing your mum a speedy recovery and YAY for the wonderful results of the surgery oxoxoxo
Oh thank you! mum was walking a little tonight ! So proud of her, It’s a BIG op I bet it’s not easy ( ouch)... x fingers now that she recovers well! Thank you 😘
Hi Claire. You must be so relieved the op is done. I remember picking my mum up from hospital after her debulking surgery. It was the most terrifying journey I have ever made! I had to drive across Birmingham which was scary enough, and avoid any little bumps or potholes. It was such a relief to get her home! She managed her pain with Paracetamol. The codeine pain killers made her constipated and she suffers in that department anyway! Sending big hugs and positive vibes. I know what you mean about role reversal. I agree. My mum looked so vulnerable after her surgery and when she lost her hair. She's doing so well now though. You just wouldn't believe what she's been through!! Send an update soon. Jane XXX
Hi jane !!! So relieved!... She’s not been too good last night and today though but it’s early days! Doctor came round today and said the op had gone really well so were pleased !
My sister went today so I will be going tomorrow straight from work... I’ve a few days off next week so I can go there everyday as she only lives 10 mins walk away!...
Dad drives like a sunday driver everyday so the trip home should be ok!....
Hope you and your lovely mum are doing well...
praying were nearly at the end now! I want my healthy mum back 🙏🏼💞💞💞💞
