Can anyone recommend a particular brand of cream or lotion for my head, I’ve developed quite a lot of spots around my head, I only wear a light scarf unless I go out then I wear a wig but not that often, I go out couple times a week maybe. I put E45 lotion on my head but that doesn’t seem to be working. Thanks for any advice.

Spots on my head
Hi Flower I developed spots on my head when I lost my hair and it turned out to be an infection of the follicles. If they are bothersome it may be worth having a word with your GP. I needed antibiotics which cleared the problem up within a couple of days and they never returned. xx Kathy xx
Hi flower
As said either antibiotics OR there is a product- via prescription from your GP called Dalacin C solution. It contains an antibiotic called Clindamycin. It is used for many skin conditions where you need antibiotics and works directly on the problem without taking antibiotics by mouth.
I would perhaps stay off the E45 as it contains lanolin which many dermatologists do not like and a lot of people react to it.
Best wishes

Hi Flower. I developed pustules all over my head during chemo (once Avastin was added to the Taxol/Platin Mix), which itched and hurt. Went to the dermatologist, applied various ointments (antifungal mostly), but nothing helped. In my case, a combination of applying dexa loscon mono 0,025% (essentially a weak liquid Dexamethasone/corticosteroid), frequent Octenisept spray (a generic wound disinfectant) and reducing my Taxol dosage to 80% got rid of most of it.
This side effect is really annoying, I think.
All the best. Maus
Hi there,
I am on my second line of carbo taxol treatment and I have exactly the same thing, a head full of spots. I never had this frontline. Think I will visit the doctors on Monday and see about antibiotics. Thanks for posting the question, and I hope we both can get this sorted.
