I had good news today

I know it's hard proclaiming good news when so many others are struggling with recurrences but it's early days for me. I finished my firstline carbo/taxol a couple of weeks ago, but thought I had a malignant pelvic lymph node. However the PET scan I had recently showed NED!!!! It's hard to take it in but I am so thrilled to have some time to recover my strength after struggling with anemia and breathlessness for the past few months. My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy in March (we live in Massachusetts). My only concern is that CA 125 is not a marker for me so I don't know how I'll know if the beast comes back but right now I am just going to enjoy life!

Congratulations on your news. I spent way too much time worrying it would come back. Go and have some fun. You don’t need a marker to know if it’s back, your body tells you. Hope your remission is a lengthy one

I longed to be called Susan or Linda when I was growing up in the 1950’s. I don’t mind it now. Your name isn’t common either 😘

congratulations! Go and enjoy your holiday, put cancer out of your mind until your next checkup. Hard to do I know but you can do it! Have a lovely holiday. xx

Congratulations on your great news!🍾🎉

Enjoy Italy in the springtime!💐

My CA-125 has also not been any help so far, we just have to be aware of our bodies without being paranoid-easier said than done sometimes!

Relish this time of feeling good and being able to get on with life, it’s a gift for sure.

All the best,

Christine xx

Hello my friend, a ps from an incurable optimistist : tonight I’ve got a party at home and with steroids and antisickness injection board after chemo on Thursday , have been cooking all day yesterday . Why ? To celebrate life despite the shit , the fight, the fear etc that this beast causes . I get joy out of cooking for family and friends and finally after 3 months of feeling like a sick antisocial slug on FEC ( out of 21 days 3 good ones) the change to TAX means a huge improvement . Fingers crossed the Thai green curry , coq au vin and pork with peppers are ok , plus choc mousse and pavlovas !! And if I don’t last the distance ( there’s 18 coming !) and have to lie down it will be worth it

Have a good day . Thinking of you this morning Denise x

Wow--your cooking sounds amazing and I love tour attitude!!!!!!

Wonderful news, enjoy! Enjoy Italy, it is great to have something to look forward to.

My experience of recurrence was me realising it was happening before they bloods changed. I felt tired all of the time and then had a few twinges in particular places. I had been in remission for a 18 months so I wasn’t really looking for recurrence. I suppose what i’m Trying to say is i think you will know. However I hope you don’t, we don’t all recur I hope you are the latter.

Very best wishes,

Lisa x
