Congratulations on making it to your own wedding! Happy to hear it was wonderful even though you are not as well as we all would like you to be.

Glad also that your Laparoscopy was completed and you are all set for Chemo.

I have never had Cusplatin, but it seems to work, but may be rough. But we are used to rough patches as long as the Chemo destroys the cancer.

Best wishes,

Laura

Hi Jools. Congrats on yr wedding, cant wait to see pics. Cisplatin is harsher than carbo but get the antisickness right, be kind to yourself with the fatigue and its doable xx Kathy xx

Congratulations to you both! Store those wonderful memories and keep those pictures around you. I’ve come to realise the value of printed photos recently. I keep a lot on my phone but they’re not the same!

Best of luck with your new treatment and hears to many years to come. 🥂 xx

Congratulations on your wedding! Wonderful and so glad you had a great day ❤️ I’m currently on Cisplatin / Gemzar. I’m actually on 50% of the full dosage they gave me first try - it was too much for me but I’ve been on chemo almost non stop for over a year so please don’t be scared by my experience as everyone is so different. Well I feel this is my dose now and just had it yesterday. Full of steroids though to “ dampen down” the side effects. I’m also on a super strong anti- emetic anti sickness drug. One tablet that lasts 5 days ( I so hope it works this time!!) Emend ha also been a good anti sickness for me : another worth asking for!

I am praying it works for me as this feels like the last chance.. but can’t think about that!

I think you sound upbeat and positive so that’s a huge part of it you keep on with that wonderful attitude! All the very best T xxx

Still have more choices! It’s does appear to knock it back then hopefully onto a parf!how bad were your side effects xx

Well I ended up in A&E first time at full amount and obviously was too much for my body to take now post all that they gave me previously. I now have reduced 50% of the dosage and they have given me different anti sickness so side effects much more tolerable. Bright red face from steroids and exhaustion and a bit wobbly and very very constipated : but that may be the super sized anti sickness or the chemo or both. But seriously I can manage this and it is also with the addition of Gemzar a 2nd Chemo so it is the big guns!

As I say everyone takes to their treatment so differently : I found Taxol so easy yet some ladies find that tough. I’m finding this tough but manageable so good luck my pal : you can do this and do keep in touch xxx ps if you find anything that works for the constipation please tip me off!!

I’m guessing you’ve tried dulcolax but maybe lactolase may work for you? It helped after my surgery. I’m finding dulcolax adequate after the ondansetron I take on combined chemo weeks.

Good luck with your treatment

I just wanted to update those who connected with Jools53. This is my mum, she sadly passed away in November after a 5 year battle. Words cannot describe the saddness I feel. She’s been truly amazing & the best mum & nanny. Lost for words. Thank you to all the friends she made on here. Such a huge loss to me we were so close. X
