Hello all. I haven't been on here for a while. I am still ned however I had a cancerous tumor removed from my pancreas and I ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis while on vacation, that was a bummer. I now am diabetic so I have been struggling with this. Hopefully you all are having a better time than me! Take care XxTina

Hi Tina. You’ve had a rough time! I did my “total patient care” assessment in my nurse training (many years ago!) on a patient with pancreatitis. He was very ill & in a lot of pain....so sending hugs! Are you on tables or insulin for the diabetes? That is another ‘lifestyle’ change; hope you have had some good support & advice. All the best, take care . Linda xx
Hi Tina, sorry you have a little trouble but its being dealt with. It has to be hard to get used to taking meds or insulin for diabetes and following a different diet but you can do this. It will be strange but doable
Was the lump related to OC? Is it type 1 or 2? I keep reading about diabetes diagnosis they are monitoring me too because of the steroids. Are you on any meds that affect your blood sugar?
LA xx
I'm sorry you are having a rough time. I was diagnosed with oc 10 years ago, then diagnosed with diabetes a few months later, so had a lot to adjust to that year. I've had more trouble with oc, so still have regular scans &oncology appointments, & also diabetic appointments. It takes a while to get used to it, but you can get used to it &I live with it. Di
Hi Tina. That's not great. Hopefully you are feeling better now though.. aside from having to deal with the diabetis?
Pancreatitis hurts like you wouldn't believe, even without a tumour in the mix.
I got caught out during my holiday as well by it, many moons ago. Was put on nil by mouth (plus antibiotics) when I returned and checked into the hospital at home. Not that big a deal except I was under private care and the only doctor who could rescind that order went for a week's worth of sailing afterwards ; so I kept starving until impatient teenage me checked myself out in protest and went to a steak house.
Hope your pancreas keeps a low profile and your NED continues. Maus
