I’m not visiting this site so much these days, but I do keep up to date with some of the lovely ladies I have met on here. I know some are really struggling and often feel guilty that Im having better times atm. However, when I joined this site I always felt happy and encouraged to read positive posts.... so here is mine.
I’m almost 16 months post chemo (frontline). In that time I’ve started a new job, dug my confidence out of a very deep hole, travelled, laughed and feel fab. The most recent news is that I have just welcomed my 4th grandchild Toby a week ago. He weighed in at a whopping 10lb 2oz and his poor mummy had to endure 32 hr labour in this heat!!
I feel very blessed indeed. Of course I know that recurrence can always be waiting around the corner but considering I’m 3c high grade I feel I’m doing ok right now. Now is all there is and I’m determined to enjoy it. Love and hugs to all - Marian xxx
Hello Marian - Thank you for sharing your uplifting story, I was on a downer today but feel much better reading about your happy times, and yes your right now is all there is!
May you continue to enjoy and be an inspiration to gals like me.

Thanks. I’ve been wondering how you are doing? X
I had another grandson in July 2017 he is growing fast. I had a recent recurrence on the hip. A tumour lodged in my hip muscle, very painful. So was sent for a new radiotherapy treatment to Dublin. Five sessions of stereotactic radiotherapy, not available in Cork as yet. So it was tiring and I stayed up there the second week and for the final treatment. It was much easier in the heat. Its sore so my onc made me promise I would take oxycodone and now ended up constipated which I was worried about. Its sore but I do feel a little improvement yesterday and today. I hope to get back walking properly in a while.
What a wonderfully uplifting and positive post! You look amazing and your grandson is adorable 😍 so happy to know that you’re feeling well and are enjoying each moment of your life, long may it continue! Xxx 💖
What a gorgeous baby and such a fabulous weight, so many congratulations to you all and well done new mummy. You look fabulous x
I’m so pleased you’re still well and embracing your new you, long may that continue. It’s lovely to hear positive news which give encouragement and hope to those of us who are struggling.
Lovely to hear from you, big congratulatory hugs and love ❤️Xx Jane
Great photo and beautiful baby! I feel badly for your daughter in law (the weight!) but worth all of it. Enjoy and thank you for sharing such lovely news. oxoxox
Thank you Marion for you post. We need more of these stories. You look fabulous btw!!! May I ask how often you are getting bloodwork done? what is your ca 125?
I am now 21 months out of chemo and so far so good. The ghost is always in the closet though.I pray you stay NED forever!!!!
Hi Carol, I’m having it checked every 12 weeks now..... I wanted more often but I’ve realised that it’s not really doing me good to have it done every month. Last test was 4 weeks ago and it was 11. Ranges from 9- 15 up and down.
21 months is amazing, long may that continue for you xx
I needed your post today, Marian. Thank you so much. The photo is beautiful and what a big boy! My biggest was 9lb 1oz but I don't have labour or pain so it was ok. Honestly - I'm probably one of the few women in the world that doesn't get a labour. They just come and I have to rely on my instincts. OK hate me
I really hope that you get to see little Toby married with children of his own. You will be a beautiful grandma of the groom. Enjoy. Biggest love xxxxx Give him a kiss and squeeze from me please.
Toby looks gorgeous in his proud Nana's arms and you look so happy and well! So glad you're feeling fine and doing your best to carry on with your life as normal. Thanks for giving us all a boost with your beautiful picture and your positive health image! Xxx keep it going.
How lovely to have such a happy post, Marian. So pleased you are so doing well keeping positive. Gorgeous photo!! Poor baby's Mum with such a long Labour and producing such big baby, beautiful though he is.
Congratulations all round and very best wishes for the future.💐
Congratulations on Toby, that's wonderful! I'm stage 3c clear cell I've been cancer free 4 plus yrs. April I plan on celebrating 5 yrs. I did have stomach wash chemo, intraperitinel chemotherapy. I hope you also have great success. Congratulations again, great picture. ❤❤Liz
