Here's to happy times

I realise how lovely it is to read about our personal stories. And I'm very aware that all I seem to post is problems/questions! So to change the balance, this is me and my husband, my sister and my partner, just after we'd landed on the Isle of Barra in the Western Isles last month - the only scheduled flight that lands on a beach!

That's me looking totally washed out. Not by cancer - but by travel sickness! It was a very bumpy ride due to high winds, but was definitely one of those trip-of-a-lifetime bucket list experiences.

Wishing everyone all the best for happy times

Caroline x

Wow, Caroline - my husband has promised me this trip! We have only been on the ferry before, but I've seen the planes land and always wanted to do it. I loved the way the baggage just went into a tractor and trailer sort of thing on the beach! Barra is a magical place full of healing beaches and flowers. So glad you got there, even if it was a bumpy ride!

Check out the flight price war to Barra. It's not as pricey as it used to be. Such a lovely laid back place. Go! X

We had good weather which was an added bonus. Doesn't always happen in that part of the world!x

Well done it had to be a brilliant experience life is for living and it seems Barra is good for the soul

It's only recently that I started to think about a bucket list. Perhaps not totally a good thing. However it's great to dream. Whether I will ever get to Chile and Patagonia is in the lap of the gods however the Canadian Rockies are there too ...x

Great photo and you're all still standing! I've always wanted to visit the Western Isles, hopefully will do one day.

All the best!

PS. Don't know which one is you, other than it must be one of the two females!

Ok I'm the one in the purple jacket. And just to correct my post, the tall guy is my sister's partner. Not mine!

Lol. I cringe thinking about my sister reading this! She would snort with laughter. Giggling is good for the soul too. Have a good Sunday x

It looks stunning, lovely photo. What a great change from the usual crowds and nonsense at airports. I hope you soon perked up although you look lovely.

My hubby is busy looking at the western isles after I showed him your post and I'm going to have a look at the Canadian rockies, we were discussing our next trip while sat having lunch overlooking New Jersey across the Hudson River and he mentioned he fancied travelling through Canada so it must be serendipity.

I think it's really nice and important we are able to share some of our better times, we get to see more of the person and a little less of the disease that brought us all here but it is also good we are able to share our problems too. Bit like having an extension to family but with people who really understand.

Hope you felt a little less wobbly very quickly and had a really nice holiday, here's to many more, thank you for sharing this ❤️❤️Xx Jane

Sounds like a great trip! I hope you enjoyed every bit of it (except for the travel sickness!)
