Well, we've just returned from Norway and I said that I'd post an update and a photo here when I got back.
We had the most fantastic time, it was absolutely incredible - we went out two nights in a row on Northern Lights chases and we were extremely lucky to see the Lights on both nights, it was totally amazing!! We also went snowmobiling in the Lyngen Alps which was another wonderful experience.
This time last year I was looking at debulking surgery and chemo - what a difference a year makes!!
Much love

OMG Paula. You are one lucky girl. Northern lights are on my bucket list. I hope one day to experience what you have just had. Yes, a year makes a lot of difference but some of us are still within the year. Let's hope we all have years to remember. In the meantime, thank you for sharing with us the wonders of the world. Love Kryssy xxx
Thank you Kryssy, we both feel so lucky to have seen them, they've been on my bucket list for sooooo long! Last year felt like an extremely long year as things didn't go according to plan, so my last chemo ended up being 14th December 2017 and I was given NED 9th January this year. I'd been counting the days till this trip and felt really, really emotional when we saw the Lights. Hoping your year improves and that you have a better year next year.
Thank you Netti, your post made me laugh out loud! I'm really glad this has spurred you on, it was an amazing experience. My next overseas trip is mid March to The Azores, hoping to go whale watching there!
Thank you V, it was incredible and that photo is definitely going on our wall - we have a wall in our kitchen that has photos of us doing various things and I think that will take prime spot at the moment!
Totally utterly wonderful. Glorious photo. May I ask which travel company you used? Itβs my dream to see the Northern Lights. Jo πΈπΊπ»πΌπΉ
Thank you Jo, it was absolutely amazing! We tend to book things independently, so we booked flights with Norwegian Air, accommodation through Booking.com and the lights chases we booked with a company called Greenlander. Don't hesitate to ask if you want further information.
WOW! Fab photos of what must have been an amazing trip, hope to follow in your trails next year, so much to do... Don't want to depress my family and friends fulfilling my bucket list so call it my f*#k it list!!! Having so much fun getting through it, Africa next week!!!
Thank you, it was awesome! Love the renaming of your list that's great!!! I've been working on my bucket list for years (just a list before the film!!) way before this, so I still refer to it as that, it never crossed my mind that friends and family may find it a bit morbid now, hahaha, too funny!!!
I love going to Africa, which part are you going to next week?
We are going to South Africa, Victoria falls in Zimbabwe (which is where i was born) and Zambia (where my hubby was born) Catching up with old friends and taking in the beauty of the bush, so excited. But your trip Northern Lights is top of "the" list Paula.
Oh that sounds wonderful! Victoria Falls is on my list!! I've been to Kenya, Tanzania, Morocco and Tunisia, but there is so much more in Africa I want to see. Hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy the beauty of the bush! xxxx
Thank you Paula, will post a picture of Vic Falls for you. It is very impressive and a must to see. Lovely to chat, stay well, keep travelling and have fun filling that list!! x x x
Hi Perth girl.. Visited Zimbabwe back in the mid 90s an amazing country and very friendly people....wonderful wildlife.. we hired a car and toured around on our own ... loved it!! Which hospital do you go to in Perth? I go to SJOG Ivy Suite. Hope all going well for youπ
Hello rossnbren! Great to hear from you! Yes Zimbabwe has the most amazing people, sadly is in quite desperate state now but do love the bush and wildlife. I had surgery at SJOG, Chemo at Genisis in Joondalup, finished May last year and so far so good, living the "new" normal, still on 3 monthly check ups. Where are you at on your journey and hope treatment is going well for you? Do you attend the monthly meeting with OC in Perth? I have only managed to get to 1 as I live in Dubai but such great ladies there.
Hi Perthgirl...I finished my treatment Feb last year, go for the three monthly checkups and so far going well.... glad to hear that you also are going well. Enjoy your holiday to Zim and hope you find that things are on the up there but guess it will take time. Cheers Brenda
Oh Paula it looks amazing a year does make a difference, I am heading to Iceland on the 1st April with my granddaughter as one of the trips on my bucket list.
Thanks Sarah, it was fantastic. It was our first time snowmobiling and we had such great fun with them. We went with my sister and nephew and my nephew has no fear at all, so he was bombing along as fast as he could with my sister on the back! We laughed so much that day!
Fantastic. We wanted to try and see the northern lights this year. My latest treatment has stopped that but so glad you have gone. Great photos. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Agility, really sorry to hear that your latest treatment has stopped you doing some of the things you want to do. I have my fingers crossed that your situation improves over the coming weeks/months.
Hello from Canada! These pictures are amazing! I'm so glad you had a successful trip and are feeling good. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure.
Thank you Lucy, our next adventure is mid March to The Azores, we're on countdown for that now βΊ
Much love

What lovely photos and what a fantastic experience to have. My daughter went last year and found it a lovely place but she didn't get to see the Northern Lights, maybe if she brings her Mum next time who knows, she might get lucky
Oh Paula, what fantastic photos and how wonderful that the Northern Lights showed up for you. I went to Norwegian fjords in 2002, but sadly it was too cloudy for them to be seen.
Thank you Barbara, it was brilliant and we were really lucky, I know so many people who have been and not managed to see them. The fjords are just beautiful too.
