Ovacome Members Day 2018

Hello,

We would like to invite you to the forthcoming Members Day on Saturday 3 March. We have an exciting line up of speakers to update you on the latest treatments for ovarian cancer and how to manage day-to-day with the effects of the disease. The day provides an opportunity to hear from some eminent speakers, to meet other members and to share experiences and information. It is also an opportunity to meet Ovacome staff and discuss your views with us, which can in turn influence the way Ovacome operates in the future.

Provisional programme

10.30 am - Welcome and registration

10.55 am - Introduction by Ovacome Chair and welcome to Ovacome's new CEO: Dr Cathy Hughes and Victoria Clare

11.00 am - Latest news and ovarian cancer updates: Dr Marcia Hall, Consultant Medical Oncologist

12.00 pm - Drug development and participation in phase 1 trials: Dr Rebecca Kristeleit, Consultant Medical Oncologist

1.20 pm - Lunch

2.30 pm - Anxiety and ovarian cancer: Sara Lister, Head of Pastoral Care and Psychological Support, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust

3.30 pm - Diet and nutrition: Jane Clarke

4.00 pm - Ovacome Annual General Meeting

Refreshments including tea and coffee and lunch will be provided on the day so please come and join us for lunch, have a catch up with old friends and make some new ones. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements; or if you have any accessibility issues. The venue is fully accessible for wheelchair users.

The Ovacome members' day is always in London and a yearly fixture. I know in past years, people have travelled up the day before and met up for a meal etc. It is though for many of us a long journey...

It might be worth keeping an eye on Target Ovarian Cancer's events as they are spread throughout UK... think next couple are in Hull and then Brighton, SX

I'm sorry you won't be able to make it. All the talks will put on our YouTube channel so you won't miss any of the information. In 2018 we will definitely be expanding our regional events and we'll post on the forum about any that are taking place.

There is a Premier Inn also close by premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels...

There is a Z hotel about the same distance as the Premier Inn: thezhotels.com/city
