Weekly Paxil or taxol excuse the spelling don't ask any questions xxx

Well it is good you are going home and that they found the problem. Your hair losss depends on what treatment you are getting. Carbo taxol definitely does make you lose your hair bu Gemzar C

sorry that went before I finished, Gem Carbo might thin your hair but you wont lose it. Have you been given any information sheets from the hospital?

You didn't say which chemo you'll be having. You say 3 on 1 off. Is that weekly taxol? If it is, most people lose their hair. Sometimes it just gets thinner, but mostly it all goes. Di

I found weekly taxol an easy regime for the first few rounds, though the fatigue did build up. I used the cold cap which is a drag every week but the hair on my head is as thick as it's ever been. I think it was due to the cold cap as my pubic hair almost disappeared. I also took ice for my hands to prevent neuropathy - just ordinary ice cubes in plastic bags which I held while the taxol went in and for a while afterwards.

Hi,

I am just finishing weekly taxol , 3 on 1 off ,t,he one-off is great and we try to make the most of it.jyes I did lose my hair , for the second time .once it started to go , I just had it buzzed off . I've got a couple of wigs ( you get a script ) and a selection of bandanas . In this weather, I just go out , loud and proud and baldy !

I have been tired with it but listen to yur. Body and rest and, No sickness though . This is my 3rd line chemo and it has been the easiest to tolerate.I am grace 4 .

I wish you the best of luck, sending hugs.

Love Linda x

Chemo is not for life. I was prescribed 18 infusions. I think I've read on here of some people having 12. But the best people to ask how many you are expecting to have are your oncologists or the chemo nurses. Please don't hesitate to ask questions, it makes it all less scary if you know what's happening. Di

As these other wonderful ladies have said it will depend on your treatment plan. But the upside is if you should loose your hair, many of us found it very liberating of sorts.

You are not a coward, it is a lot of info to take in and digest so to speak. It's hard to know what questions to ask until you catch your breath. Heading home sounds wonderful.

Not what you're looking for?
