Good luck with your results, mine was a couple of weeks ago, so I know how you are feeling.
As for the hair, mine was about your stage in May and now I have about half an inch all over, doesn't take long. Its just starting to change from the downy stage to something more resembling normal hair. Keep up the good work and hope the sun shines on you. x
Good luck with your recovery. I hope you can plan in a few treats and remember to spoilmyourselfnsometimes. It all takes time, getting through what you're been through.
Dear Janet - the weather forecast this morning predicted an improvement in the weather as the high over Iceland moves and the Gulf Stream is restored to its correct location on the globe. The only other thing I can suggest is a holiday in Iceland - or failing that in the most northerly part of Scotland!!!!
My hair will enjoy a little warmth and sun ..just for a few seconds at a time don't want to burn it for it grows ....... plus I need to wear this posh white sun hat I bought in Woodbridge Suffolk ........ xxxxxx
Will be glad when the letter arrives ...trying to keep busy at the mo so as not to keep dwelling on it ...Its wet again here in Norwich .....Still the weeds in the garden are lifting like a dream ..so its not all bad ....
Love Janet xx
Hi Jan,
Just sending you my best wishes, thinking of you love x G x
Good luck with the results. I have soft fuzzy baby hair at the moment too (6 weeks post last chemo). It feels lovely to rub My daughters like to examine my head and give it a stroke too!
Its the waiting now ..for the postman ..bit like waiting for your birthday cards to arrive but this time not sure if I want to open this envelope ..not normally like this ....
Looking forward to our break in Dorset what ever the weather .....
Yes, its good to get some sunshine on your scalp to encourage growth so ditch the wig or head scarf and sit in the garden for a wee while.
Our only problem is - we mustn`t sun bath because the chemo thins the edidermis layer of our skin so we are more prone to sunburn and risk of skin cancers.
I used a basic shampoo designed for Horses, yup you read me right "Horse shampoo and conditioner", I`m not sure if it made any difference but I used it and my hair was back to it`s normal short jaw length BoB with minimal layers within the year. It also makes your hair seem thicker because its very basic and cheap by comparison. I ordered mine from the internet.
I found this out by a hairdressing friend of mine who lives in South Africa, aparanetly everyone over there are going bonkers over it and they advice their chemo clents to use it once treatment is over.
Hope that little piece of information is helpful xxx
Good luck with your results. I know what its like as I finished my chemo at the end of May & had my scan in June. The wait was very worrying, then I was given the good news I was all clear. It's a wonderful feeling to see your hair growing every day. Mine has come back very grey, but its so lovely to see it and I cant resist touching it all the time - it feels so soft just like baby hair.
Good luck with your scan results. I had my op 30thNov - followed by chemo mid January.Finished chemo end of may and 3wks ago discovered a slight greyish shadow of baby hair. What a shock for it to come back grey!!! but i am pleased to say it is now looking darker by the day although I havent lost any hair since the grey, so dont know why it has turned darker? I long for the day when I can say to my hubby - just going to wash and blow
dry my hair. Sadly I think that will be a lond time yet.
You are just a head of me excuse the pun ...... had my op 23rd Dec and started chemo first week in Feb and chemo finished 25th of May .....
Glad your hair is getting darker rather than the grey .... I use to have long hair till I knew I had to have the op then had it cut short .So it was easier to go from short to no hair ....
So it will be a blank canvas as it grows now !
It use to take me ages to blow dry it when it was long ..now its just a pat of the head ......
I had to wait just over a week for mine, my oncologist rang & told me. Typical I was on the loo when she rang so she left a message and I rang her back. It was such a strange feeling after all those months of treatment, I thought I should feel overjoyed but I felt a bit flat. Soon changed though, now I value every single day.
I'm sure all will be fine for you, its just the wait. I'm sure you will let us all know when you hear.
My hair seems to be growing quite fast now, cant wait until I can leave the wig off.
