My name is Kate and I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in December 2016. Currently I've had carboplatin and taxol chemotherapy but unfortunately this didn't work. I'm due to start a new regime of oxaliplatin and capecitabine in a couple of weeks. Has anybody on here received this type of chemotherapy and could you give me an insight into what I can expect side effect wise?
Thank you in advance
Katie

I've just had my first cycle of oxaliplatin and capecitabine. Oxaliplatin is given iv every three weeks. Capecitabine is taken in tablet form. I take three tablets twice a day for 14 days, have a week off then start again with the oxaliplatin. The side effects I've experienced is I can't tolerate anything cold. Slight pins and needles in fingers. I also had a few days where I couldn't take a first bite of food without it hurting (imagine biting down on tin foil with a filling) but this wore off after time. I have experienced slight nausea but anti sickness meds have helped. It is tough by doable. Sue x

Good luck with the chemo Katie. Let us know how you get on x
No experience of your new chemo regime but wanted to send you a big hug from one stage 4 to another and say how sorry I am that you are needing another chemo regime after what you have already been through.
Thinking of you and sending positive vibes and best wishes for your treatment . Love Kim X
