Hi love, just relying to you until one of the ladies with more knowledge comes on. Please don,t take any chances and worry about bothering people over the holiday. That,s what their there for and they,ll be getting triple time anyway, you are important!. Your local Doctor will have numbers to phone if you ring and listen to the messages, or ring the Hospital you are under, they should have cover for advice. Or, you can ring 111 tell the nurse what,s happened and they will take it from there, they have been good in my experiences though not rung for a while. Please get some advice, if only to put your mind at rest ahead of your holiday. Typical to happen now, what a bother!. Don,t sit worrying. x x x
Yes definately get checked out before going on holiday incase you need antibiotics etc . I have a 24 hour number for CNS if they are not there due to weekend holiday etc it goes through to dr on call who rings back . Or ring through to surgical team if you have a contact . My CNS has arranged for me to be an expected arrival at A E before which saves lots of hanging around and they can also forward notes etc .
Hi there, have to agree with Callmemum go straight up to the A&E. I had 4 staples stuck under my infected wound & the hospital was the only place that could sort it out. Please don't leave it too long you don't want it to get infected. Take care Cindyxx
Update..... Visit to A&E. All checked, dressing in place.... Keep an eye on it. Just alarmed after all this time to find blood today. Thank you all for your kindness 🌻🌻
Great you got sorted, just dont be lifting heavy cases and draggin stuff, it will heal but will take time but meantime you dont lift anything heavier than a cuppa
Phew! Glad you got some help! It seems to be fairly common having the wound open up in certain places..mine took ages to finally heal but over a year later it's all back to normal...so keep plugging away you'll get there xx
Yes a trip to a and e to to get reassurance before the holiday. You must have been over doing it
Definitely rest up to give it a chance. I had a similar thing, always at the weekend! The doc was great, still have a little dip there, and that was 16 months ago. Glad you went to the hospital
Glad you got so many positive answers. The same thing happened to me after 5 weeks and it is a bit scary. The first thing to establish is that you haven't got any infection there. I was told that it was not an unusual thing to happen and the blood etc that came out was because it needed to escape somewhere. I had mine cleaned and dressed every day for 8 days by a friend who is a nurse. (It's a bit difficult to get at unless you use a mirror). I expect you have it all sorted y now anyway. Good luck and don't worry! Have a good holiday!
