Well after ordering the wrong Chemo for me, for which I had previously had anaphylactic reaction! I had to wait 4 and a half hours to start my 7 and a half hour treatment, not a happy bunny! Then Pharmacist came around with wrong anti sickness fron that which Oncologist had told me, really fed up and lacking in confidence at this point. Anyhow finally home after 12 hours and feeling fairly yuck today but at least not being sick thanks to Kaths advice on that!

Poor thing no wonder you are not feeling too good must be exhausted . Glad you got correct treatment eventually and finally got home .
I had a 12 hour treatment for my 6 th chemo when they introduced the Avastin and couldn't get canular in . Took 4 nurses a couple of attempts each . Got there at 10 am and got the train back at 22:40 !!! But at least I didn't have to go back the next day to complete !
Wow Claire you don't do things by halves! What a day you had!. If the cyclizine doesn't stop you feeling sick then ask for something else but hopefully it will do the trick. Sending you a big hug. Kathy xx
What a hideous day - added stresses from delays, wrong drugs and knowing that you needed to stay whilst wandering what might happen next. So sorry that you had this to contend with- The day is long enough when it goes well let alone this travesty. I hope you stay feeling as well as you do now.
Take care and thank goodness yesterday is now gone!!
Hello Claire. I spent 12 hours in hospital with mum on Monday. She was just starting Carbo/Taxel again. (3rd line). She has high calcium levels so the onc ordered an urgent blood test to check the kidney function. We waited over an hour for the results, not knowing if the chemo would go ahead. I've taken a week off work to be with mum so it was a tense hour+!! It did go ahead and she had the Taxel (abbreviated!!). The ward was two nurses down so it was difficult for the few nurses who were trying to cope with the normal workload. At around 6.30pm the senior nurse came over and said she was very wary about administering the second part of the chemo cocktail - Carboplatin - because there were no doctors there at this time and she could have an anaphylactic (had to check your message for spelling!!) shock with having the same chemo first time round. It probably would have been too late to start it anyway. So, we had to go back on Tuesday morning but were only there for around 2.5 hours!! The Carboplatin had no reaction but mum was pumped with all sorts of preventative drugs. The side effects have kicked in, including the dreaded constipation. I'll be asking the ladies for some advice on that!! Best wishes. Jane X
So sorry to hear of your awful experience, it's bad enough without adding to it! I find Movicol and nutribullet smoothies help with constipation. Good luck. Claire xxxxx
