Dreadful night at home. In agony from pain, family debated what to do & hubby spoke to surgeon. He said get her in...so I'm now sat in a hospital bed where I've been most of the day. Seems I may have a infection, and/or constipation! π
Not a good day, felt utterly awful. Excruciating pain on either side of my groin. Consultant said it may be an infection, starting me on antibiotics & having a scan tomorrow morning...
I've had better days. Hard to convince yourself that 'this time will pass' when you feel so bad. For the rest of you I hope you're having better days xxx

O no I'm so sorry to read your post.... at least your in the right place to get sorted out .... hope you feel better soon ... sending positive vibes huge hugs and virtual support xx
Hang in there! I was hospitalized with constipation...couldn't stop vomiting but Ive fixed that problem ..I was also dehydrated....I take Restoralax twice a day (powder you mix with juice and water) with two stool softeners (senokat-S) before bedtime...drink lots of water.(I have trouble with this one but getting better)..take this as preventive before you start any pain medication which can constipate or steroids.....this solved my problem of constipation...I'm in Canada so I don't know if you would have the same there where you are but I'm sure they would have something similar....hope it's not infection but best of luck to you...best to be in hospital where they can help you....sometimes folks get bowel blockage but they'll find out soon.
Hi Sarah, so sorry you have had a set back. It sounds as if the doctors have it all under control. It's not easy but try & rest & hopefully you will be home soon. Constipation is horrible I ended up going to A&E I was doubled over in dreadful pain with it.
Thank you lovely ladies. This is indeed a dark place. Hardly slept a wink even though am fully dosed with painkillers. Like the worse period pain ever, & a bladder fit to burst...
Praying today brings some lighter relief & they get to the bottom of what is causing it.
Already starting to blame myself, did I not drink enough peppermint tea, did I walk around too much, did I perhaps strain myself by lifting the kettle to make a cup of tea?! TBH no, I don't think so, but you never actually know....
What a shame. I hope you feel better soon. You're in the right place to get it sorted out.
One step forward, eh? And you got off to such a good start too. Rats!!! You will get back to where you were. Hoping things start calming down soon. xxx
So sorry to hear you are back in the hospital. Constipation can cause a lot of pains and agony especially around to surgical scar leading you to think you have bigger problems. I stopped my pain meds because of constipation-it was worse. Try and drink a lot of water and enjoy people fussing over you and waiting on you for a couple of days. Walk if you can, you will be home soon and a couple of more days of recovery behind you.
My heart goes out to you. I was admitted to hospital just before Christmas with severe constipation following 2 lots of chemo. The pain was awful. I had enemas and eventually a very awful manual evacuation. The relief was instant once I went. Managed to get home late Christmas Eve. I was dreading Christmas on the geriatric ward which is where I was put.
You are in the best place and the infection will be knocked out with the antibiotics. You will soon be better but the ups and downs are hard.
I send you a big hug and all the ladies out there are so supportive and know so much about what to do
Oh Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear you're back in hospital π I hope they get to the root of your pain quickly and treat it so you can get back home and concentrate on your recovery. Sending you lots of healing vibes. Jemima xx
Hi Sarah, sorry to hear your back in hospital but until your better, its the best place for you. I had periods in hospital too and when you feel so low, it is scary and difficult to see the brighter picture. Hopefully the scan will reveal what's wrong and the right course of actio will ensue. In the meantime take this opportunity to get as much rest as possible. I promise you, you will start to feel better soon. Ann xx
Hi Sarah, sorry to hear your back in hospital. Me too had that problem last week, after 2 weeks post op for total hysterectomy , I was in pain and developed a temperature, I went to see my GP and after examining me he phoned the gynae ward and I was admitted via A&E. I was put on antibiotic drips straight away.as I had a massive infection. Now I'm back home after 6 days in hospital. Take care and hope you will be out soon as well.
Oh my goodness ladies! I was in SUCH a bad place earlier, after my 3rd night of minimal sleep & terrible pain. Won't go into too much detail, but the pain Dr came & saw me, took me off morphine (figured it just wasn't working) changed it to a different one, which fingers crossed it IS working, & I actually feel rational & fairly normal atm.
Had such a good start but it's been a massive rollercoaster.,,
Glad you are feeling a bit more normal and hope they are sorting out cause of pain too, it's horrible being in hospital but hopefully they'll get you sorted and back home soon. There are a few bumps in the road with this journey! Take care
Been confirmed I'm going home today!! YAY!! 2 weeks after I first had my surgery, can't wait to finally get home. Pain is lessened, bowels working, and I think I'll probably be back on chemo next Fri for my Second round.
