ANY "IDEA's" for Loss Appetite & Dry Mouth from Knee Surgery??

Nov.1, 2016-Total Knee Surgery. Surgery was 7:30 Am to 10:30 AM-and, I did not awaken from anesthesia until 3:30 PM. Immediately, I noticed, "no desire for food" and dry mouth, and dry lips. These two conditions are STILL persisting after almost 60 days!! I think I have only enjoyed perhaps three very small meals....Surprise to me! I've lost over 20 pounds, and I do my re-hab, however, I feel awful, most of the day, and have chills and use a moist heating pad, all the time. I layer my clothing.

I noticed a suggestion for fluoride toothpaste for the dry mouth, and eat cheese, dark chocolate and fresh pineapple-which I will begin tomorrow!! LOL Anything, to try and promote a better appetite and desire for food!!

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE EXPERIENCED THE "NO APPETITE," AND, OR dry mouth after surgery??

I also did have no appetite after my surgery however that came back once I was on steroids for my chemo!! I don't think (from you post) that you have ovarian cancer so this probably isn't the right board for you but I would suggest you do speak with your doc to and ask for a referral to a nutritionist as that length of time without an appetite does seems too long.

If you have been having any other symptoms or if things don't feel right then also discuss them with your doctor to get fully checked out.
