Hi Sue,

I was on weekly taxol for about 4 months. I lost my hair and ended up with a small dose reduction due to peripheral neuropathy. Other than that, I found it really easy to manage - no nausea, no fatigue, excellent quality of life etc. The only pain was going to the hospital every. single. week!

It worked really well for the first three cycles, but started to lose its efficacy for me by cycle 4 (but I had a whole host of bowel problems going on too). However, plenty of other women are able to complete the 6 cycles and get decent results, so don’t let my experience concern you.

Good luck with it, Vicki x

PS I was offered the cold cap, but chose not to go ahead with it. If you are concerned about hair loss, maybe ask if you could try it.

My husband said I looked like Dr Evil from Austin Powers! Now that I've stopped taxol, I have a fine fuzz of white/grey hair cultivating - I'm normally brown, so goodness knows what's going to come through.

Hi Sue . I’m currently on Taxol 7 th dose today and another 5 to go . Surprised to say it’s going much better than expected after FEC the previous 9 weeks. All side effects manageable abd am having a very reasonable lifestyle Fatigue yes , dry mouth etc but really not debilitating. . I’m doing ok with cold cap and have enough hair not to use my wig yet ! ( if you like I can give a few tips!! ) . I had very thick long hair but now have a shorter bob . First half hour is not wonderful but after that it’s ok and have made that choice but it’s a personal one ; I’m so glad I stuck with it ; mind you I’m a bit pig headed.

Good luck

Hi sue.

I'm on weekly taxol I'm on octova trial I'm just going for number 9 today. It's much more doable than carbo and taxol together. I get a little fatigued. My va125 is down to 31 and am seeing oncologist today.

I had weekly Taxol, & found it not too bad except for having to travel to Cambridge, where I'm treated, every week. No nausea. I found I didn't even need to take the anti nausea meds, so that reduced the risk of constipation, & I didn't need laxatives. I had partial hair loss (no cold cap). I was told it was unusual not to lose all your hair, but with the weekly individual dose being less than the 3 weekly individual dose, it sometimes happens. Di
