weekly taxol
Hi Zuzana,
I am sorry that you will need to go on chemo again... There are a few people on here that are on weekly taxol, they have recently started doing this now, as apparently it is more successful sending you best wishes love x G x
Zuzana
I had weekly carbo/taxol between March and August this year, ie for 18 weeks. In terms of how I felt - it was ok, but towards the end I did get very weak and tired, but then I also had a lot of surgery. If you want to know anything specific do ask and I will try to answer.

Dear Zuzana
I asked my oncologist about weekly Taxol on my last visit a couple of weeks back. She said it had a similar effect as Avastin - and was found in trials to extend remission by several months so it seems a good route to be going. I understand you would have a couple of infusions, then a rest on the 3rd week, then start over again.
Hopefully someone who has had dose-dense weekly Taxol will be able to comment on how they found it. It seemed attractive to me to avoid spending a whole day in hospital.
I hope it goes well.
Take care, Annie xx
Thank you for replays, very helpfull.
will be hard for me to visit hospital every week. hope my husband will be able to leave work every week and drive me to hospital. i think im panicking too early but want to be prepared
2 days ago i had CT results and from june there are minor changes so i have still time to enjoy day to day life before 2nd line of chemo. dont have date yet, having another CT in january and will see how this "C" is behaving!!!

hi1 zuzi.I just finished 18 weekly taxols 4 weeks ago. This was my 3rd. line chemo.I am a 3c o.c. .My oncoligist said she was amazed at the results as tumour marker went down to 23 and all tumours were not visible bar one small one over kidney. The result was better than my last set of treatment which was 3 weekly carboplatin and taxol. This is my 3rd. sat of chemo in less than 3yrs. and doctor said usually results get less positive with every set of chemo.I had tumours over all major organs and in lymph nodes under the heart so I am elated with the results. My feet are painful with the nerve end damage and got tired towards the end and am still a bit tired.Probably body recuberating after treatment but other than that the side effects wernt too bad at all and the final outcome has made it all worth while.I hope this helps you and raises your spirits a little.una xp.s. my oncoligist said that research is showing that weekly taxol is more efficient than 3 weekly chemo sessions.
hi poleglass, I'm stage 3c too and tumour on the wall of liver, and lots of small tumours in the abdomen wall. also lymph notes removed in tummy area. last chemo finished Dec 2011. lowest ca125 was 38. at the moment 91. last CT showed that tumours in abdomen wall are growing but for past 4 months I'm "under control" and might start chemo after Christmas. i was hoping for longer time without chemo,i kind of believe its just big mistake in diagnosis.........reading good results after weekly taxol making me more happier and more strength to do it again. wishing u all the best x
